Gomez, Naby, and VVD didn't cover themselves in glory on teh defensive adjustment after the fact, either.

But that said, you're right it never should have happened. Very poor by Lovren.

Lovren caught out again, poor defensive response, Alisson saves the day in the end.
    Not good!

Braut Haaland is a player we should think about signing. two more goals today 6 goals in total so far in the cl and he didn't even start against us.

Guess Naby had a much more influential game than I realized. I did think he was quite good in the second half:

    - Most passes completed (108)
    - Most final third passes (29)
    - Most dribbles (3/4)
    - Most tackles (4/4)
    - Most ball recoveries (12)
    - Most distance covered
    - Most passes into the box

Just caught the highlights. Looks like a better game than you guys saw.
But then I saw 4 goals in about a 3 minute period. :)
All brilliant goals. Good to see the OX get his brace. Mane got his assist from Mo. Then Mo shakes off two defenders to slot his home.

Definitely picked it up in 2nd half. More of a passenger in the 1st.

Him and Salah were working their way back into match awareness/ fitness in the first half.

Salah esp, so many underhit passes.

Klopp's final word is that we scored some great goals but everyone else could do much better.

Yep, Lovern dithered. But in his defense, he wasn’t getting much help from anyone. I think by that stage Gomez was the right back who might have stepped up, but Lovern did forget the first rule of defending when in trouble: nobody has ever scored from Row Z.

Too much over analysis half way through the first half of a game will do that to you.....

He's a good player. I like the idea of him playing because he will drive through the center more. This allows the three attackers to really move about into unmarked spaces for tight interplay. With Henderson, GW and Fabinho it too often distinctly looks like two banks of three....

People can throw all the stats at me all day. He doesn't pass the eye test yet.

Well, you compared him to Aquilani - who certainly passed the eye test when not injured or recovering. Unfortunately he was most often injured or recovering.....
same goes for Naby in the past year....

Hm, disagree there sports fan. He never passed my eye test ever. And as you pointed out, "when not injured or recovering" was a cold day on the sun for him.
