Okaka's goal was well taken. But he was a bit too selfish in his time out there. Wanted to muscle his way through the whole time. There were like 3 PK shouts in the first half, but I agree with the ref on all of them. We should have had a PK at the end of the game, Deuce was taken out when he was sent through by Nevland. No call though. I'll take the 3 points, and on to the Wolkswagen!!!

Reina didn't have to make a save until the 90th minute.

But what a defensive stand! Away point at Anfield. Booyah.

ya Schwarzer was our player of the game, he saved the game for us.

I thought duff had scored there at the end, but a point at liverpool is good enough.

also zamora looked like his achilles was bothering him a bit when he came off, hope its nothing to bad and he'll be fine for the match against hamburg.

just watched fulham play everton with everton winning 2-1. Should of atleast been a tie or a win for fulham. Okaka should have scored and there were other chances for us too. Also the sideline ref got the call wrong which led to the pk in the 90th min, he called a throw in for everton when they kicked the ball out, even the commentators were saying it was fulhams throw in.

LOL, we were playing minus 9 of our starters. And we lost to an OG and PK that shouldlt have been awarded. Even the goal we scored was dumb. It shoulda been 0-0.

In other news, Hamburg SV lost 5-1 today.

WOW! I just noticed that Capello called Bobby Z up for Englands friendly.

And how about that 5-1 yesterday! Zolly with a hattrick!

    Pretty much.

Also, considering both Hughes and Hangeland played over 50 matches last season, I wouldn't bet on both of them making it through the whole season without some kind of injury.

On the plus side, the new away kits don't look too bad. :D

    Away kits rock!!

And yea, 2 CBs. Were linked with Rafik Halliche, the Algerian international from Benfica.

EDIT: Chris Baird and John Pantsil can also play CB, they just arent natural CBs.

Why didn't Clint start today? I can't imagine unless there was a fitness issue (which I don't think there was), why Deuce would not start...

It seems like the offense could have used him today; but a point on the road is not the worst thing that could have happened.

New coach. Happens every time. He'll be starting by mid-October.

And I'll gladly take the road point to kick off the season.

Also, it looked like Hughes was going with a slightly more defensive set-up since they were on the road.

We might see Clint starting at home next week against ManU, but if not, he'll be back to starting soon. What he brings to the team is too much to ignore.

My only concern is that Hughes might bring in Bellamy and possibly another striker, in which case all bets are off.

2-2 draw against Man U. All things considered, it is another result to be content/happy with. Fulham deserved a point. From about the 35th minute to the 75th minute, we were the better team; towards the end of the game, there were just too many chances for United in the box, that it was hard to be suprised by their 2nd goal (even if it was of Hangeland's leg). When Brede equalized, it was a great end to a great game. A point on the road, and a home draw to Man U, not a terrible way to start the season. Now get a W!

How did the refs miss the blatant jersey pull by the Man United defender in the box? That should have been a PK for Fulham. One of the most exciting matches I've seen in a good while. It was nice to see Hangeland redeem himself after the own-goal :D

The deadline is coming up for teams to name their 25 man rosters. With the Halliche signing, Fulham now has 28 players listed in their 1st team.

So who are the three players that don't make the cut?

I'm guessing that Senderos' injury will keep him off the list. Then, depending on how Andy Johnson and Kamara are doing with their injury rehab, they may or may not make it. Assuming they do, I'd guess that Milsom is left out and possibly Eddie Johnson.

Senderos left out as well as Zuberbuhler.

A couple of quick notes to get the thread moving again.

    1. In case anyone missed it, the new guy looks good.
    2. Poor Bobby. Can't catch a break. Ok, he did catch a break. <gong>
    3. 6 points from 4 games. No losses yet. Team looking strong.

Another draw. Eventually, it will be nice to get some wins, but this was another point on the road. Look at the schedule so far:

    AWAY to Bolton - draw
HOME against Man U - draw
    AWAY to Blackpool - draw
    HOME against Wolves - win
    AWAY to Blackburn - draw

Granted, those are mostly teams that we would have a chance to beat on the road, but so far, ZERO losses in all games (with 3 away). And the one home game that we definitely should have won, we did.

Also, I agree that Dembele does look good. I am hoping that he and Dempsey can make a formidable duo, and that Hughes figures the best way to use them together.

Indeed. I'm really happy with our season so far. With the way things are going, I'm expecting 6 points from our next 2 games. Home to Everton and away @ West Ham.
