If he becomes half the player Zanetti was, I'll be over the moon. http://www.asroma.com/en/news/2017/11/zanetti-pinpoints-florenzi-as-his-spiritual-heir
A good comparison but I would say Florenzi is already a key player and has been since his first full season. People often talk down about utility players and while that maybe true for some guys who are just in the way so you move them around I believe Florenzi falls into a much higher category. It takes a very high football IQ to be able to comfortably jump positions and look good at any level, never mind the very top. To be able to play in partially all outfield positions is remarkable.
Hey, I wrote this on Florenzi, please read http://www.asroma.com/en/news/2017/...ts-back-to-become-key-part-of-roma-resurgence
Other than the neck tattoo and that weird "celebration technique" with SES , I've got nothing but positive things to say about him.
What's the big deal? Heaven forbid someone speculates on the threads. Its been going on forever that a manager leaves his old team and brings one if his players to his new club. This is nothing new and its been going on for as long as I remember.
Perhaps a parallel universe exists in which Florenzi will leave his beloved Roma to join our rivals Inter. I think this is what @falvo was trying to say.
No just that Zanetti likes him and Spalletti , his former manager at Roma may also want to buy him. Roma could easily sell him, especially for the right amount of money. Many coaches bring one of their favorite players to their new club and that has been going on for as long as I’ve been watching the game.

You're talking about Florenzi though, does he really seem like the type of guy to leave and go to a rival when he is considered the future captain of the club he loves?
Sure no one wants to leave their club they grow up with but that doesn't mean he will stay at Roma forever. I don't want to see him go but the days of players staying at one club like Totti or Maldini are over. Especially for the right price. I doubt anyone can name many players in today's Serie A who stay at the same club forever.
Totti and De Rossi did and as their heir don't you feel that he will follow considering the personality we see that he has? My bet is he stays here for his career. I don't think he will be a slave to the money, he doesn't seem the type and the club definitely know better.
I don’t know about that. Especially after last Sunday, everyone now wishes DeRossi will have been sold when they were offered 100 million Euro for him in 2012 and Baldini said no. I doubt he will be here come June or maybe even January. People forget Totti was also very close to be sold as the club was pointing to purchasing Jari Litmanen around 1997/98. Then he scored in a european game I think it was and the club or Franco Sensi decided to keep him. Or offer anyone enough and they will leave. That’s been going on since as long as the game has existed. Of course in the end money always talks. Again , I don’t want to see him sold I’m just speculating as maybe Spalletti/Zanetti may want to buy him.
Nobody offered 100m for De Rossi, @falvo. Baldini was lying. De Rossi would have been knocked unconscious and put on a flight immediately if it was a real bid.
