It was time to move on. I think he took this project as far as he could. On with the next one.

Yeah I know. I heard a lot of money was lost at Italia 90. I had posted that initially a few weeks ago right after the Rome Olympics were rejected but have learned more about it.

Still, the Stadio Olimpico facility underwent extensive renovation as well as many other stadiums across Italy because of WC 90. The 1934 WC built many stadiums and the 1990 WC refurbisehed many others. Many facilities in Rome are still being used today from the 1960 Olympic games. Maybe the losses would be significant and wouldn't really help the economy all that much but there is no denying that the clubs or sports teams in general wouldn't or didn't benfit from having these torunaments.

    Martinez: Nainggolan dropped
    By Football Italia staff

Belgium Coach Roberto Martinez confirmed Roma midfielder Radja Nainggolan was dropped. “Radja must be patient and prove himself.”

Last week when Nainggolan did not appear in the squad list for upcoming games, Martinez had said it was because he was “not 100 per cent.”

However, now he has adjusted his comments to reflect a tactical decision.

“Nobody will be given any free rides based on the name on their back,” declared Martinez in a Press conference.

“Belgium is a very competitive national team and everyone must fight to be a part of it. Radja must be patient and prove himself better and more in form to get back into the Belgium side.

“I am happy with the players who filled that position against Bosnia and Gibraltar, so I gave them precedence.”

Nainggolan had pulled out of international duty last month, citing an injury.

Never figured Martinez was a clown...

If he would have gotten hurt.. I don't even want to think about it considering our luck with defenders and injuries.

My friends mom Petruzzi, who played for Roma in the 90's also lives right there and they own a cafe. A lot of former players live there but many live or lived in the Eur district...

I have no idea if this is where this goes but Son of a $$$$$.... All I can say is SOB! My wife talked me into going with her parents, sister and brother-in-law to Italy in May, they have never been and wanted us to go show them around. So she booked the flights, which she usually does. We get to Rome on May 15.... the day AFTER the Juve game!!!! SOB... I am more convinced than ever a wife's job is to suck the will to live out of you. 1 damn day

To top it off she has us in Firenze on May 27th the day before their last game! I'm gonna just have to take the train from Firenze to Roma that day... it's just unavoidable, they can fend for themselves for one day.

Why didn't you tell her the Roma schedule and incorporate the games in your trip before she booked the flights? Or does that make too much sense

Same thing happened to me last August. I paid 600 bucks to change the date by 3 days. If I were you I'd look into it and whatever you do don't wait because you might be able to get away with like $100 a person to change now but that will probably triple as you get closer to your departure date. As per the last game, just think, it's not like you're in Italy every day so just take the train. Trains in Italy are great.

Unless something changed, the Eurostar railway took 80-90 minutes from 2000- 2005.

Yea, I'm thinking of changing just mine... it's only $50 because my wife bought travel insurance for my ticket because I wasn't the keen on hauling my in-laws to a bunch or tourist sights I've seen 100 times.

We took the train from Rome to Florence this past spring and it was about 90 mins. First time I took the train in Italy because I always get a car be we decided to take the train... I'm hooked. This time the only time I'm taking a car is when we go from Rome to Amalfi Coast. Train is the way to go!

She knew the schedule. Brother-in-law couldn't go at this time, father had to be back at certain time.. everyone had a reason they could leave earlier... so I'm the one that gets screwed.

    No good deed goes unpunished.
