Hey guys!! I've been having some Twitter discussions with some folks who have expressed interest in playing in our US Men's draft game. I wanted to post this to gauge our interest level for the upcoming year. I would be more than happy to set the game, run the threads, do all the logistical work if we can get some players. Personally, I think we should try to get 12 teams. That would set up nicely for our voting (4 3-team groups, group winners play in the semifinals, etc.) In this thread, let’s see who’s willing to sign up, discuss rules and modifications, start dates, ineligible players, etc. So far the only request I've received is that we not start until late January, which is why I'm posting this now, to get us thinking about it. I honestly missed the game last year, and we have so much young, up and coming talent, I think the 2019 game's going to be a helluva lot of fun. Going to tag a bunch of people below that I think may be interested in playing. Alright, @ChuckMe92 is on board! I think that puts us up to 7 or 8, depending on teams with multiple managers.
Yea we’re gonna team up. Are we actually gonna finish the draft this year tho? It’s never been finished any year I’ve participated. We get thru the draft but stop short of the team votes.
We’re doing it this year, my friend. I’ll have a draft of the rules posted in a day or two, player draft will commence in late January.
I think the draft should start and end around the first week of MLS with the vote happening soon there after. Otherwise we have a bunch of players who haven’t played in months and people voting on assumed form.
What is that, like the first week of March? What does everyone think of that idea? I don’t think it’s half bad, myself.
