Wouldn't/shouldn't Robert have known his marriage was annulled though? -EDIT- "Pray for us!" (via Kristofer Hivju on @Instagram): https://t.co/72zAtKK8H9 #GoTS7 pic.twitter.com/iHa41eL5L6— Game of Thrones (@GameOfThrones) August 29, 2017
The child has absolutely zero claim on the throne because the Lannister's themselves had no claim. They just grabbed it on the spurious basis that Robert Baratheon, (who, himself, had no claim), had overthrown the previous guy because he was crackers. If she shows herself to be a good and reasonable ruler she, (or John Snow as it turns out), should be fine. In fact, if she starts off by murdering a young baby she's almost guaranteeing herself problems in the future. That was the claim regarding Richard III, don't forget... that he 'murdered the princes in the tower'. Let's just say, if it was him, that his plan was not an unrivalled success
After the King, Rhaegr's father, had murdered various people, (including Ned's father and brother), the Targaryen's weren't really in a position to say, 'Ooops, my bad... we probably should have mentioned... blah, blah, blah'. From the story, as presented, we have to assume it was a spur of the moment kind of thing and then things spiralled out of control before it could be sorted out. Hey! It's just a story guys... y'know?!

Not Robert and Lyanna, they had yet to be married. Rhaegar had his marriage to Elia Martell annulled.
Ah, yeah... good spot. I was confused about that as well BTW is the fella who played Rhaegr, (spelling???), in the show the same fella who played Dany's elder brother? Y'know, the dickish guy. It looked like him.
Claims are what you make of them….Cersei is sitting on the Iron Throne….ergo, any of her offspring can make a reasonable claim at any point….it’s the same reasoning that Dary can make her claim, even though she wasn’t even born in Westeros…. I hope it’s not lost on anyone that Robert was CORRECT in wanting to kill Dary….because she had a claim; a claim people can and did rally behind….people with claims are always a threat; even ones that start out as little babies….
The better argument is that her father went crackers and even she's burned a couple of honourable fellas in the Tarly's. TBH That's why I'm convinced that John Snow will become king because he has both families blood AND he's been honourable throughout.
That’s more an argument has to why Tyrion may not trust Dary to not to harm the child…which I already alluded too…at least with regard to the Turlys… But in the end, it probably doesn’t matter…I don’t believe Cersei’s child will survive child birth….it either still born or born a “little monster” and is killed by Cersei’s her own hand (perhaps even being the final straw between Cersei and Jamie)….personal speculation, of course…
No, two different actors ... Rhaegar was portrayed by Wilf Scolding, Viserys by Harry Lloyd. But they were brothers, right? And the family liked to keep their bloodline "pure", so it'd make sense they looked similar.
The mad king would have objected to the new wedding, that family like to stay in the family for pure bloodline to work with the dragons.
Sorry, yeah, I guess she was born there…just remembering comments about her not being from, ever seeing Westeros, nor know anything about it…that she is basically a foreigner….
What is that thing? It's been in the opening credits from day one yet didn't appear in the show till season 5 . Has to be of immense significance?
