No Pulisic or Adams, plus no Bradley (which likely means Trapp). I don't expect a great performance, but we should still be able to beat Venezuela
I suspect we get a win here. And the media will start gushing over 3G. Their bringing a B side and we will prep by burning out our A team early.
In fairness I'd probably play as much of the A team as you can, we open with Guyana, and our first "real" game is in 13 days against Trinidad. Burn out shouldn't be a problem
Official starting XI (I'm guessing on the exact formation): ----Boyd----Zardes----Arriola---- ------Roldan------McKennie------ ----------------Trapp---------------- --Ream--Miazga--Long--Lima-- ---------------Steffen--------------- https://www.ussoccer.com/stories/2019/06/tonights-us-mnt-starting-xi-vs-venezuela
I guess that's fine with who's available. I probably would have went with Jozy over Zardes though. I was also hoping to see more of Holmes
Wil Trapp will wear the captain's armband in today's match. Substitutes: 12-Sean Johnson, 22-Tyler Miller, 3-Omar Gonzalez, 5-Walker Zimmerman, 11-Jordan Morris, 16-Daniel Lovitz, 17-Jozy Altidore, 20-Duane Holmes
It's 2019 and we're starting Zardes with Trapp wearing the arm band. This is the worst case of our NT coach picking his club favorites I can remember.
Glad Boyd is starting. Happy to see GB move from a 3-6-1 to a 4-5-1. Maybe, we’ll get 2 forwards against Guyana? I wanted Jozy to start, oh well. Yes, I expect us to beat Venezuela.
You beauties! Venezuela even 25 years ago was such a beautiful country. I thought they had problems then, boy did I miss the mark on how poor things could turn. Not unlike the USMNT. Guys regularly start for the US now that wouldn't have gotten a sniff 10 years ago.
If argue for Horvath, but that’s another discussion. My point is that he clearly favors his former players at Columbus. 2 out of 3 shouldn’t even be in the picture for the MNT.
