On both those cases Yura would have never even made the run to give him the chance, and I'm not saying that to just be a dick, he wouldn't have

OMG. Kobi Jones was just talking shit about how Beckerman looked so tired and useless the 2nd half.

That isn't an easy shot from Beckerman.

This is one hell of a point.

Rough red to RSL, but two wrongs don't make a right.

I will happily take this point as an RSL fan.

Man of the Match is easy: Nick Rimando had an amazing game. We were also helped by the crossbar and the post. But ten men from the 13th minute on, on the road, and to be in a position to steal the point is amazing.

RSL is seriously fighting to keep this season going. What a finish. I saw the whole team angling for the hopeful rebound. Great shot by Plata to put it hard on frame. Excellent thought by Horst to lay it off and not try something quickly himself. What a shot by Beckerman.

I was getting ready to post that despite losing, RSL showed a lot of heart in this game.

That last foul call almost felt like the Arabe Unido stretcher game where you just knew the ref was so upset at them that he gifted us a call just to punish that kind of shit soccer. As for LA, they are just shit right now. Shit play was unintentional.

10 v 11 and RSL still comes away with a point on the road. Give us 11 for 90 in Colorado and we will get three. As to Yura I would definitely have given him 20 minutes tonight, the idea that because he has struggled this year he no longer plays is beyond dumb! Sorry Up, but the guy still may have a role to play this season.

Given how we started the year...the fact we are in the conversation--and probably the one opponent no one wants to see in the playoffs--Petke deserves consideration for COY.

I was out of my chair wondering WTF I'd seen... Recalling Yura's dying seconds goal against Colorado to put us in the playoffs some years back.

I was thinking the same thing while they were setting up the last free kick. "Give credit to the boys for never giving up and playing to win with all heart."

What an awesome way to end the game: Jones and Schmid bitching at the refs.

Again, Yura would have never made the runs that resulted in chances for Lennon and Saucedo. He hasn't made those runs all year, that wouldn't have changed if given 20 minutes tonight. You can believe whatever you want, but one thing has been proven over and over again in the last few games that Yura has gotten into, he's a DETRIMENT to this team when he's on the field. There is no reason to play him at this point unless we have no other forwards to play.

Remember that KB goal, that may be the difference between making the playoffs or not. We basically got no results to go our way today, FCD and Houston still have games in hand that are winnable, IMO we have to win our last 2 games because of this. SJ probably loses to Vancouver and beats Minnesota leaving them with 45 points. FCD gets the cRapids and LA as 2 of their last 3 games, while Houston gets SuKC home/away and Chicago to finish. We have to hope FCD and Houston both drop a game, at a minimum.

Credit to Horst on the final ball. His initial run made it look like he was going to shoot, and wisely changed his plans when the ball came at the angle it did. I feel like there would've been a fair number of players that would've tried to blast that shot, only to fail miserably.

I have a feeling this point we earned will be the difference between us getting in, and barely missing the playoffs.

The last two weeks of the season are going to be crazy. One team at 43 pts, three with 42. Sadly two still have a game in hand, but we're definitely at the point that dropped points could very well end a season.

Horst was good from the moment he entered the game. Glad seems able to transition easily between Silva and Horst as his partner.

    Here's hoping Savarino is okay.

I've re-watched Beckerman's goal several more times, and I am more impressed each time. He played 95 minutes - 80+ without a central midfield partner - and he ran his ass off the whole time. He's 35. And he had the wherewithal to put that shot not just on goal, but out of reach of both the goalkeeper and the defender in the goalmouth, into the roof of the next on the far side.

The angle from behind the goal is the best.

I tip my hat to him.

It was amazing. He didn't have time to think about it so he couldn't overpower it like he does so many of his shots. He relied on his decades of play, his body knew what to do. He was probably as surprised by the pass from Horst as anyone on the pitch and just reacted as a seasoned professional who has taken impeccable care of his body and mind. That goal was as much the product of years of strategic preparation as it was of tactical moment.
