.I think Alan Gordon just showed Dax a poem that Nelson wrote for Pauno in lieu of an actual gameplan.
Both goals against the Fire have come from Brandon Vincent’s side. He should have closed down the opponent in both cases.
Sloppy defense on both Minnesota's goals and Minnesota was sloppy on our goal. No creator as usual for the fire. I am watching on mls live on my computer after fighting with directv as I have direct kick and I am getting every other mls game but the fire road game is blacked out for some reason never had that happen before. Miss Schweinsteiger. No service to Nikolic.
That field played like absolute rat shit today. Wait - are they singing ********ing Oasis after the game? Goddamn, Minnesota can go straight to hell and die. Sanchez is an absolute heart attack in goal- yeesh. Given Basti and Polster's absence, I guess this is about what we should have expected, but it still sucks losing to a middling second year team, even on the road.
Ellis who is possibly shorter than Vincent and did decent at CB and is an improvement over 6'4 Dean. Let's sort out that CAB slot so we can see if Ellis is an improvement over Vincent. Also it just wasn't closing down Vincent was awful at, his passing at times was criminal.
Collier earned his draft pick and paycheck today. He's got heart and looks to be a good addition , 89th minute he took a nasty nock and was on the ground exhausted and dinged up for a good 30 seconds . He got up and literally hobbled into the box to get a ball from Tchani and nearly put it away.
Also - for those of you that for whatever reason decided to cross state lines and go somewhere colder and far less awesome than Chicago, you sounded pretty good on TV. Don't get arrested or kicked off of the damn Amtrak on the way home, eh?
I had to teach today, so I was going to miss most of the game. I am at the dentist now for an emergency root canal or extraction. Horribly painful, but at least I don't have to watch this game.
I’m glad I decided to head to the parade instead of staying at home and watch the Fire. Now I’m hanging with the wife and son at Burnt City with a good beer and I will probably get a shot of Malort before we leave.
The Fire look like they never completed pre-season. Their passing was terrible for most of the game. Lots of lazy passes that were easily intercepted or the dreaded huff it forward to no one. At times, it looks like eleven guys who've never played together before. Shocking!1
So based on today and last week I don't see how they can pick up any points in their games over the next month and a half.
Come drown yer' sorrows at Independence Tap. The Wild Oscars take the stage at 7:30. See what these farkin' bastages have driven me to?
We are ahead of Toronto and Portland if you go with GD tie breaker, but somehow I don't think Toronto and Portland will be this bad at seasons end. 20. FIRE -2 21. Toronto -3 22. Portland -5
Rushed on home to catch the last 20 minutes of the match. Never could get the damm thing to work. Kept telling me to update my browser (which I did). Just as well, I guess. Year 3 of the 3 year plan is not going so well. What a cluster F!
