Starts in Championship action. Here is your #FFC team to face @NorwichCityFC today at the Cottage on opening day! #COYW pic.twitter.com/7VTZuZlrex— Fulham Football Club (@FulhamFC) August 5, 2017 (Side note: no DLT, but I'm not worried since he made some noise in preseason. Expect to see him with the U23s. The one I'm worried about is Fossey, whose contract may have expired and from whom we haven't heard anything this offseason.)
Him vs. Besler. Only one of those backup CB/LB types is making it. Ream started the huge qualifier at Estadio Azteca and played well, Besler started some of the Gold Cup and played well. Still think Ream has the slight edge for now given how Arena selected him over Besler for the March and June qualifiers.
ESPN3 now has the rights to EFL (including the league cup) so you can fire that up and watch the game right now if you would like. http://www.espnfc.us/english-league...glish-football-league-games-in-us-this-season
Yeah, probably between him and Miazga/Hedges/Zimmerman, and between Ream and Besler, to be the backups to Cameron and Brooks. As of now, I'd go with Miazga because he has impressed at a pretty high level with Vitesse and did well in his Gold Cup start, and I think Gonzalez defended poorly at the Gold Cup. But Gonzalez is the current frontrunner, no doubt.
Damn. I forgot we had so many viable CB options, but like only 1 or 2 quality fullbacks. I kinda wanna see Miazga make the roster, but he'd be riding the bench for sure. But good experience for him going forward. Yeah, I concur that Gonzalez looks the legit pick. Though I'd want a 5th CB to be on the safe side/
If Arena comes to the conclusion that a 3 CB formation is a realistic option at least some of the time in Russia, he's probably going to have to take 5 central defenders on the 23.

http://hammyend.com/index.php/2017/08/reams-resolution-reflects-his-remarkable-transformation/ Article on his performance, they went a man down within 30 seconds, and Ream was the main reason they got a point. Scrolling through twitter, many love him, and some say he's the best defender they've had in years. Fulham is a promotion candidate.
Ream is playing very well. If Brooks can't go for the USMNT in September, it'll probably be Cameron-Ream as the CB pairing.

I recall when he joined Bolton in the PL. I don't recall if he performed all that well, but he was starting before they were relegated. I figured he'd be stuck there but he did well enough and got a nice move to Fulham to further prove himself. He def seems a lock to be going to Russia.
You're right. I recall when he dropped to the Championship, he wasn't a legit starter but I guess he put the hard work in. those 2 PotY helped that move to Fulham.
This isn't anything near their best starting 11. Heavy rotation. Their focus is clearly on promotion.
