    FULL TIME

    Jordan 2-1 China.

China deserves this, you missed many chance, and that defensive error wasn't called for.

However, Liu Jianhong, the commentator said he is contented with Team China's performance.

With the amount of time the Jordanian players spent on the ground, it should have been at least 6 minutes.

arghhhhhh......is this going to be a repeat of WCQ2006? Got a feeling this result is going to sink us in the end.

The important match is the next one. Home vs Iraq. We need to win this one.

Well thats the end of the game, I'll tell you something China really know how to break the wrong kind of history and lose to Jordan for the first time ever.

Not the worst result in the world, I was hoping for a point, but I think Camacho did a decent job strategy wise (though no clue why bring on Wu Xi). He now has a month to see some more players (very important) and figure out what the roster will be, though I don't expect any drastic changes, there are definitely a switch or two that could help, especially having a healthy Deng would be nice too.

Still a long way to go, the 2 remaining home matches are both winnable, China should cruise to victory over Singapore, and then a point against Iraq away should be more than enough to get China through.

I agree. Even though China was at fault defensively on Jordan's goals and missed many good chances, I feel that overall their team performance was much, much better than the game against Singapore. Aside from the two goals, Jordan was not able to generate much offense. Also China did a good job of pressuring the Jordanian defense and forcing them to kick the ball away wildly instead of building up possession.

Yup. If China wins four out of six matches, with certain amount of goal difference.
    We are through.

    Current Standing:
    #1 Jordan
    #2 China
    #3 Iraq
    #4 Singapore

October 11 - China vs. Iraq (Home) - Must win.
November 11 - Iraq vs. China (Away) - Must win.
November 15 - Singapore vs. China (Away) - Must win - so we don't have to worry about the February penultimate match.
February 29 - China vs. Jordan - if we beat Singapore - draw will do.

The most difficult match will be Iraq vs. China away.

I guess it was only a matter of time before China's recent run of suicidal defending would finally see them lose a game, outside that they actually played some decent football, except for in attack and defence...:(

So just to confirm, only 1 team from the group advances right? or is it 2?
Don't feel comfortable at all putting our hopes on goal difference lol
