I've seen u8s defend against 1v1s better than Layun and that has to be what Porto's staff sees everyday in training. It's now obvious why he doesn't play. Chuky y Vela was no impact sub but no injuries aside from Montes so that's good. Corona was solid. Guardis was solid. Aquino did his best but his size is a problem. RJ9 scored a well taken goal but not much else. Moreno improved, Salcedo improved, Flaco was better but still looks uncomfortable. Jona did his job but not much more. Govea very nice debut, need to see him more.
when Layun is on his game the guy is a beast! but when he is off, he is mediocre at best. Nothing in between.
Wow, this was a joke on Poland's side, and spit to the face of all fans who arrived. This "team" will never play in configuration like this again, so I am not even sure what was the point of this exercise for Poland - I did not learn anything new about the players on the field... As for Mexico, they moved formations well, were quicker to react (which wasn't difficult, since Polish players had no idea where to run, and what is the plan - simply, they were like Children in a mist), and deservedly won.

It wasn't a job. He got placed there because he got injured and Mexico was out of subs after Govea went in. It's not bizarre at all. It happens constantly when a player gets injured enough to not go out and leave the team with 10 players. They go up top because it's less of a liability.

I liked what I saw from Govea. Should be called again and should be given a start. Or be first choice sub at least.
