It's not just this match. What about New Zealand? Honduras? 1st half vs El Salvador? Chile? Venezuela? Jamaica? 1 half vs Uruguay? Putrid football in all of them.
No team is going to look good against a 4-1-4-1 bunker formation. I think even Mexico’s first team probably would have struggled but would broken this bunker sooner. Here are my takeaways: -Gio will be in the Hex. You need his vision to help with these bunker teams. I also thought it was good that he was tracking back to defend and to disposes Panamanian defender. -Lozano will be a sub in the Hex and will do a pretty solid job running at tired legs. - Ayala is probably the new defender in the backline. He is serviceable but his long passes suck. - The backline of 4 worked in cutting down stupid giveaways and the opponents chances. -Mexico can't afford to give away halves anymore. One shot on goal during a half is unacceptable. Let's not kid ourselves; Mexico hasn't cruised in the Hex since 2006 and the region's teams have gotten better. If Mexico has to grind out wins especially against teams that are going to sit back I'm ok with it. Sent from my SAMSUNG-SM-G900A using Tapatalk
Was it me or was Moi Muñoz playing like shit again yesterday? He was giving balls away left and right, making very compromising passes, and yea the stop at the end was ok but that was about it.
y el de Uruguay?. Tácticamente México fue mejor que Uruguay y eso que los Uruguayes son de por sí un equipo táctico muy bueno. También contra Honduras en San Pedro Sula, México fue infinitamente superior en todos los ámbitos...
Yeah, the Uruguay v Mexico game was the most exciting win for them in a while. Here was the lineup: Talavera; Araujo, Reyes, Moreno, Layun; Herrera, Marquez, Guardado; Corona, Chicharito, Aquino. Osorio needs to build on to this core and establish continual roles and chemistry with this set of players. Biggest thing is Marquez who will need to be replaced soon. Jona, perhaps?
It's just you, his passing out of the backfield was much better than our defense and midfield...the defense was making terrible passes back to him and he handles it fairly well...Muñoz had a decent game.
But but.....piojo had us playing like shit against Panama <_< Bro what is this dudes peak? This team plays like utter shit.
Honestly most international teams nowadays don't have much of an identity...I think this is due to every country playing a watered down safe version of total football and the death of the #10.
Nah I just understand the fact Concacaf Bunkers are a bitch. Especially if the other team is superior athletically speaking. Like I said, when was the last time we sliced these teams up and why?
