https://mlsmultiplex.com/2019/08/01/mls-canpl-not-untouched/ This article says MLS is now counting Canadian players on US teams as domestic, making the change in 2016. Is that correct? If so it settles a long running debate about whether or not MLS could treat Canadians on US teams differently than other foreigners.
I thought they were counting Canadien Home Grown Players as domestic in the US now as long as they met certain criteria?
TROLLING-- Quote: MLS announced that starting in 2017, Canadian players would count as domestic players for both Canadian and US-based teams. This comes as great, long overdue, news, given that 3 MLS teams are based on Canada. However, it was not all rosy. In their summary of the announcement, MLS outlined the conditions that Canadian players would have to meet in order to be considered domestic on US teams. The player must have become a member of an MLS club academy or Canadian Approved Youth Club by 15 AND the player signs their first professional contract with MLS or an MLS USL affiliate. https://www.eightysixforever.com/20...nt-as-domestic-players-for-all-mls-teams-sort
See roster rules from MLS Soccer https://www.mlssoccer.com/league/official-rules/mls-roster-rules-and-regulations Canadian teams must roster at a minimum 3 Canadian Domestic Players at all times. And they can roster U.S. domestic players.
The part you are referencing about being counted as a universal domestic is related to the Homegrown International Rule. If that is not met, then the following still applies (if I am reading things correctly from the MLS web site). International Players U.S.-based clubs: Any player who does not qualify as a U.S. Domestic Player in a U.S. club shall be considered an International Player, and must occupy an international roster slot on a U.S. club's roster. Canada-based clubs: Any player who does not qualify as a U.S. Domestic Player or a Canadian Domestic Player shall be considered an International Player, and must occupy an international roster slot on a Canadian club's roster.
Plague confirmed in Commerce City prairie dogs, Rocky Mountain Arsenal closes https://www.denverpost.com/2019/08/...y-prairie-dogs-rocky-mountain-arsenal-closes/ The cursed home season for the Raids continues. It started with snow and freezing temperatures for the first 5(?) games, it moved on to multiple games delayed by lightning, and now the dirt parking lots will be closed this weekend and this weekend's rescheduled firework show (from one of the lightning delayed games) has again been cancelled, all due to plague. What's next, locusts? No, wait, its a brand new ticketing system going into affect this weekend! Between that and closed parking lots god help anyone who doesn't get to the Dick at least an hour early on Saturday.
As a neutral I would like to hold a sign up at DSG during the Colorado - Montreal game that states, "A plague on both your houses!" Colorado was like a Greek tragedy earlier in the season, but perhaps it is now more Shakespearean.
Will read the article but that... sounds like some pretty bad news for an already imperiled species, right?

I thought that was a minor league baseball team until I looked more closely and saw that it wasn't spelled "Dawgzz"
Which draws a higher attendance: The Plague Game in Commerce City or the next regular home game in Bridgeview?

Ok, well this seems to put to bed the claim that MLS couldn't treat Canadians differently from Costa Ricans as it would be discrimination based on nationality.
