Add one more to the list of players beaten by a Hejduk stepover... Luis Moreno of Panama. Who was the Mexican player that Frankie skinned in Dallas?
Frankie's got the juice---you can't buy this kind of entertainment---and as long as Arena likes him, that's good enough for me.
Well he got one in last night for sure and I almost beat my cat to death when I heard the ref blow the whistle. Luck is gonna run out that that ol' technique in an important game.
I'm not much of a Frankie fan in general, but I actually thought he played quite well last night. If he played like that regularly, I'd be fine with him out there. He was strong defensively, and actually made a few decent crosses when he went forward rather than smacking them all out of play.
Oh, but this thread was never about Frankie. It was about the players who have been beaten by his stepovers.
I counted 1 two-footed "Oh ref - please eject me" lunge. 2 times I saw Frankie go flying through ther air with his right leg lifted above his head and the panamanian went dribbling by him. And more than twice I saw Frankie standing in Pope or Berhalters shadow, waiting fior them to defend his player, then he picked up the loose ball and headed up field. I counted 2 cllosed-eye headers off the top of his head under no pressure. Believe me, I'm praying for him to be successful, cause I'm American and Patriotic all the way to my core. But he scares me. And I know he scares Eddie P as well.
Did anyone hear Stone's comment when Frankie had the ball "You think we'll see a step-over?" and a second later we saw one.
LOL - i called the stepover before it happened and almost fell off my stool laughing once he did it. Wasnt there a thread with a video clip of the Mexico stepover?? I cant find it! Help.PEACE
If you are going to limit the scope of this thread to just THAT, you are going to have one short discussion. I'm just saying...
