I would NOT be surprised if FSI were to cut a deal with DirecTV for NEXT season (2010-2011) to put the leftover EPL matches on DirecTV on Saturdays at 10am ET.

FSI already has a deal with DirecTV to air leftover UEFA CL matches during the playoff round (4th and 5th choices) and the group phase (4th-8th choices).

    Looking ahead to next season...

If FSI were to renew Serie A as well, weekends could look like this:

    Saturdays:

7:45am ET EPL - FSI can either sublicense matches to ESPN, Inc (for ESPN2) or keep the matches for FS+

10am ET EPL - one match on FSC and FSE, 2nd match on FS+ (leftovers possibly on DirecTV)

    12noon ET Serie A - FS+

12:15pm or 12:30pm ET EPL (if available) - FSC and FSE

2:45pm ET Serie A - FSC (and FSE if no conflict with baseball)

    Sundays:

    6:30am ET Serie A - FS+

    7am, 8am, 8:30am or 9am ET EPL (if available) - FS+

9am ET Serie A - FSC and FSE (2nd match on FS+ if no EPL at 8:30am ET)

11am ET or 11:15am ET EPL - FSC and FSE (most "big 4" clashes are played in this time slot)

2:45pm ET Serie A - FSC (and FSE if there are no conflicts with Liga Mexicana or Futbol Argentino)

    Mondays

2:45pm or 3pm ET EPL (if available) - FSC and FSE (matches rarely feature "big 4" clubs; no "synergy" for ESPN, Inc. since match will air in UK on BSkyB)

Setanta Xtra (DirecTV Ch. 622) appears to have been discontinued already by Setanta Sports North America. It was NOT in use on January 16.

Read Mike Reynolds' article in Multichannel News regarding what will happen to Setanta Sports USA on February 28 at midnight:
