Really any draft pick not in the first 5-8 picks of the draft are almost worthless these days. HG impact is becoming huge.
Happy Birthday @marcelobalboa17 (’05)! Balboa played for the @USMNT in the 1990, 1994 and 1998 World Cups and was named the U.S. Soccer Male Athlete of the Year in 1992 and 1994. He also played in the first seven @MLS seasons, six of them with the @ColoradoRapids. pic.twitter.com/eWnxN0isoy— National Soccer HOF (@soccerhof) August 8, 2019
It was nice to see him last week, nice that he got on the field. I saw that he went around to say hi to C38.

Thanks @JasonMa First former Rapids player to pass away? Not remembering any others right off the top of my head but my memory is so bad these days it's quite likely I'm forgetting somebody. I remember Mooch as a former coach but don't recall if he ever played for us.
I believe you are correct. I also can't recall any others. That's a remarkable thing, given the number of players on the all-time roster and the number of years the Rapids have existed.
There's been no official announcement but people connected to the Denver soccer community are saying that former Rapids midfielder Colin Clark passed away last night. Most recently he was coaching for Colorado Rush.
The Colorado Rapids organization mourns the loss of former player and Colorado native Colin Clark. We would like to express our deepest sympathies to Colin's friends and family. pic.twitter.com/Q2Clzf3wcU— Colorado Rapids (@ColoradoRapids) August 27, 2019
Woah! Be careful former Rapids: https://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum/topic/148324-death-always-comes-in-threes/
I can't get my mind around Colin's death. I remember his pre-ACL (x2) form and the energy he brought to the games. He had a really young son. So very, very sad.

This right here is why I avoid exercise AT ALL COSTS! It's dangerous to be fit. Jim Fixx taught me well on that one.

Anthony Hudson update. Says he did talk to somebody at Newcastle but never actually interviewed for the job: https://www.hitc.com/en-gb/2019/09/...ares-how-close-he-came-to-newcastle-united-j/ And he's currently listed at 14-1 to get the Huddersfield job: https://www.examinerlive.co.uk/sport/football/news/huddersfield-town-next-manager-barnsley-16857357
I'm done believing any of this AH stuff, EPL leadership has eyes and are held accountable. AH will never HC there unless he takes a low level job and performs actually like the star people keep trying to cram done everyone's throat with him

Apparently Junior's funeral was today in London. A nice retrospective of his club career, including a shot from his Rapids days. https://www.graphic.com.gh/sports/sports-news/manuel-junior-agogo-a-club-career-in-pictures.html
For those with a sub to the Athletic, there's an article of Joseph Greenspan, now with the Pittsburgh Riverhounds: https://theathletic.com/1241267/201...-thriving-in-usl-with-pittsburgh-riverhounds/ He had been plagued by a series of concussions but has apparently had a very good year. Remember when the Rapids had him, Sjoberg and Burling and it seemed they were going for the skyscraper backline? There's been a lot of weird ideas go through here.
Went to see Nashville play Loudoun United and it was great to see Gary Smith and Matt Pickens. I yelled "Go Rapids Gary" as he was walking out for the second half and got a smile/thumbs up.
WSJ is reporting a Big Fed investigating USA Swimming for a bunch of stuff. Looks like all of it precedes TH leaving Rapids to run it, but not looking good after USA Gymnastics stuff.
