https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019...eady-fresh-attack-minded-start-houston-dynamo Marlon Hairston excited for the change to Houston it would seem. Does this mean he's retiring next year ala Jared Watts?
Different situations for me. Watts was lucky to find another MLS team that would give him a chance. Hairston's good enough to be a depth MLS player who may have a 10-year career without ever being a locked-in starter.

Gabby Torres, one of the top scorers in Chile Primera A last season with Huachipato, has transferred to U de Chile. He looked good in the first of their Copa Libertadores matches vs. Melgar of Peru (both on BeinSports), where they were eliminated without scoring a goal. Home leg was so bad fans confronted the coach & management after the match - before the start of the actual league season! After which they began the season with a 0-0 draw with Everton (not that one!).
Reports are that Nashville SC has settled on keeping Gary Smith as coach when they make the jump to MLS next season.
Beat me to it. Gary's done a wonderful job thus far in Nashville. He's been instrumental in Nashville's plans to build the club and has been very instrumental in shaping their roster this season. They are the front-runners for USL Cup. He managed to pluck the top two USL goalscorers last season - Cameron Lancaster (maybe the best player outside of MLS) and Daniel Rios - to bolster their chances of being a title contender this season. Those two also became the club's first two MLS signings. With Smith, GM Mike Jacobs (former SKC assistant Technical Director), and President/CEO Ian Ayer (from Liverpool exec) Nashville has a strong MLS backbone to lead them. Maybe on paper stronger than FC Cincy's backbone. The team is picking up tremendous steam. Support is coming fast and furious. Every time I visit my parents in Nashville I am seeing tons and tons of Nashville SC advertising and gear on all the hipsters. My dad says their games have a rocking atmosphere. I'll see this spring. I am happy for Garry. Good dude. Good coach and a better coach than he was previously.
Official report on Gary being named coach: https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2019/03/06/gary-smith-named-nashville-scs-mls-head-coach Wonder if they'll keep Kimura and Pickens around next year too. Might have to follow yet another MLS team lol
Might have to do so as well. It's just over 3 hour drive from Memphis, but I might get a game package when they become available. Will definitely make the drive when the Rapids visit.
Highly doubt that either of them at soon to be 35 and 37, respectively, will be on their MLS roster. I suspect NSC will have few holdovers - a la FC Cincy - aside from the two they've already signed to MLS deals. It would not shock me to see Pickens and/or Kimura hang up the boots and join Smith's staff or take a role with their youth team they've rolled out.
The @OntarioFury have called a press conference for tomorrow morning...stay tuned for more details! pic.twitter.com/9TlxDcE0PF— MASL (@MASLarena) March 11, 2019 Jermaine Jones will be going the Donovan route and will be signing with a MASL team, the Ontario Fury. Curious to see how he transitions to indoor. It hasn't be as easy as one would expect for Donovan.
I mean, I feel bad for the kid. Badji clearly loves the game of Futbol, has got some next level speed and a boatload of raw talent, but he just doesn't execute even foundational skills. And misses these shots. All. The. Time. Hopefully he can get things together as he seems like a really nice guy and could be a really good striker in the league if he could just get the fundamentals down - like scoring on an open net.
