    ***Announcement***

Tomorrow is my birthday, and my other half has surprised me with an upcoming weekend trip out of town (though I must also share the expenses, so not really that amazing a surprise) this weekend.

So, no matches this weekend. Sorry guys. I'll be back at it next weekend.

Hopefully the final will be played in the summer and not winter... Maybe a final in all seasons!

    Happy birthday, mate!

Then, for this week, could you leave us the access to the FM program, to have fun for ourselves?

(Best of) 4 Seasons in one day will be ok if the 4 seasons are Platini 83/84, Laudrup 91/92, Xavi 10/11 and Rummenigge 81/82!

Not sure if another of their songs is a good half-time motivator, or too slow/relaxing in tempo, if 3-0 down in a knockout game or something - I guess it is not what Liverpool played in the 2005 Final:

The Rotterdam Evening Post exposes Ajax' pre-season preparations!

An undercover informant by the name of Tapia followed the Ajax squad all the way down to their training camp in Perú.
Special Ayahuasca ceremonies were held, dedicated to the first dangerous match of the year.

Tapia reported that during the ceremony the initial chant of "Yes J'can" slowly transformed into "Yes we can!".
Traditionally, Mamá Ayahuasca was invoked to rinse the minds and bodies of the team. However, once back in Amsterdam, the players would be corrupted by The art of war, The riddle of steel and The Wim Hof method.

Tapia concluded to have been traumatized by the experience: "It is all fun and games when people turn players like Robben and Ribery into Robbery. But I witnessed Briegel and Schmeichel turn into Smeagol."

Ajax representative Arie van Eijden denied all above facts, including the earth being round and his own birth.

The first couple matches of the tournament are up!

I'm still waiting for the tactics for a few people before I can do the other two matches.

This is crazy. We had almost a month to do tactics. You could have done all games ur just the 1st two. There really is no excuse.

He will be available. We agreed that only major injuries that forces a sub (like the one that happened to Henry) and suspensions will result in missing the next game.

Poetgooner saves the day (I did check with him just to be sure earlier....but our team sheet should be handed in again soon now, with Pele's name probably on it)! We are giving him a rest and then light training during the week before travelling to Argentina (although it is only 24 hours in Big Soccer time).

Puck is sorting out some more of Amsterdam's finest marijuana for him too, for medical purposes as well as relaxation.

You could make sure he doesn't make it a hat-trick though....by leaving out Cruyff?!

    Another game is up!
@annoyedbyneedoflogin Moreno is unavailable for you next match!

Unfortunately, I couldn't wait any longer for @Blueallthru so @Karloski wins by default!

Get your tactics in please, guys!

Maybe, if X manager doesn't post. Can we use his better match or most used tactic by default?

On the other hand, is possibly to start another page after the 15th post?
I mean, in the Match thread, the page is loading very low for the high amount of media info.

I thought about it, but decided against it because I don't think it's too much to ask someone to PM me 'use last tactic' over the course of a week.

I could put it in a Google drive instead. Sort of like the database.

That's fair. I must admit I just totally forgot about the draft after 2 weeks. Just posting 'use my last tactic' should suffice for players who are busy from here on.

This week was the weakest for defenders, so the Ideal XI is a bit weird.

Team of the Week - GW1:

    Player ------- Rating --- Manager
    Zoff ------------ 7,1 -- PDG-van Heel
    Rijkaard------- 7,5------ Annoyed
    Nesta----------- 7,2---PDG-van Heel
    Lizarazu------- 7,7--- PDG-van Heel
    Gerrard--------- 8,7------- Benni
    Beckham------- 7,6----- Annoyed
    Platini------------ 8,5-- PDG-van Heel
    Di Stéfano---- 9,3---- Annoyed
    Rummenigge-- 9,1-- PDG-van Heel
    Weah-------------- 8,9------ Benni
    V.Mazzola------ 9,2----- Annoyed

HM: Ronaldinho, Zico, Bergkamp, Kopa, Ronaldo Nazario, Moreno, Pelé, Rivaldo, Puskas

De Klassieker rivals were the big winners in the GW-1.

In a close game Feyenoord beat B.M'gladbach thanks to a brace by Rummenigge, also with a great performances by O Rei and Le Roi

Also in group A, Ajax with a surprising inclusion of Moreno instead Bican, beat comfortably to Juventus in a match plenty of goals. The third one by Ajax, was a Di Stefano master piece after a sweet backheel assist by El Charro , whom later was severe injured by Sammer in a move not caught by the camera :cautious:.

In group B, the bad news was the first WO.
In an entertaining match, Boca get a tight win over Milan, whom can scored a poker even though its 6 shots. A curious play happened before Ronaldo's equaliser with a Bergkamp's dive, that reminds a move used by another player not line-up yet :D
