Ick - flabby wings! I can't think of any new peeves I have lately. I guess it's a combination of having so many other things to be pissed off about and that lately we've been doing "gourmet night" at home instead of going out.
I used to work at a bar in Nebraska that would grill wings--pull them out of the fryer when they weren't quite done--pretty close to that non-crunchy state--dowse them in the hot sauce, and then throw them on the flattop grill to finish cooking. Super simple, but man they were good. I'm surprised more bars don't do that.

Yeah, Jerusalem Artichokes (no relation to real artichokes) contain this unusual oligosaccharide made from fructose instead of glucose. I guess if a person can't digest that for some reason, the microbes in their gut can... I've eaten the things once or twice long ago but I don't remember any dire consequences.

I just had Turkish delight for the first time, in the form of a chocolate covered bar I found on Akazon called Big Turk. I quite liked it, but sometime I see turkish delight with nuts on it, and that just seems like a bad combo.
