Yea that's crazy logic that people always throw out there. Another way of putting it, NO team from North America, Asia, or Africa has ever won a world cup. So they should all stop trying?
I mentioned a couple and I don't think you can say they are not good. Unproven yes but a few look promising like Rafa Puente Jr., Jaime Lozano, even Alfonso Sosa who was doing good things with limitations. I'll even say Chiquis Garcia has a chance to make a name for himself. Then you have guys like Piojo, Chepo, Vucetich that are clearly good, but not great, coaches. All that said Mexican coaches need to step up and that's why I have high hopes for guys like Rafa Puente Jr. because he's seems professional, a class act, and serious about football. That combination is rare unfortunately.
When did I say or infer this? Of course not. I only mentioned that to point out how ridiculous the idea is that a team can only win with a non-foreign coach. That notion completely disregards the level of the players on those teams or the strength and quality of the leagues they play in. The latter is probably the single greatest factor in determining the NT success. I'd wager that it's more likely that with the exception of maybe Holland or Portugal, any other country that has not previouly won a WC probably has a better chance to win the one with a coach from one of the countries I mentioned than a domestic coach...
Piojo and Vucetich are decent coaches. LMAO at Chepo being a good coach. The last good coach from Mexico was Aguirre and even he lost his balls when it mattered...
I don't think Sosa has showed much to prove that he's not going to be anything more than the typical Liga MX coach that goes up and down a la Galindo or Profe Cruz. Puente Jr was a terrible directivo and frankly in Picante was all over. Good what he has accomplished in getting Lobos BUAP up but that's it. Lozano had a so so first season and I hope he does good but Palencia had a similiar good season and threw it all away. Frankly no Mexican coach has looked as promising as Almeyda or Alonso. Mexican coaches are doing worse than forwards and fullbacks.
You misunderstood, I was agreeing with your reply to @Hugo Sanchez You're fiesty today bro. Pofe Osorio rubbing off on your or what? Next thing you know, you be be calling everyone on BSMX bald headed mudafakas!!!
Nah. I was on the Osorio bandwagon but we need a change. The idea that only a Mexican coach will work is really fvcking stupid though.
But people call you a cangrejo if you point this out... Full disclosure: I do watch LigaMX occasionally...
This I agree with but foreigners like La Volpe, Romero, Reinso, etc... get chance after chance after not doing much so let's not quit on our Mexico coaches just yet.
Exactly. We've got nothing to lose. I assure you Osorio isn't going to make it out of the group stage in Russia. I can see it already. lol
I've made no secret of this... Bops got rustled because I trolled him a bit and now everyone thinks I never watch or refuse to watch LigaMX...
Oh I'm glad people like Palencia and Lozano are getting chances and hopefully this eventually pays off but for the NT job, I don't think many are looking good for the job in the near future.
i sort of have the same ugly feeling about osorio breaking the group stage tradition but honestly it comes down to sorteo more than osorio i think.
Almeyda started his career not too long ago as a manager i think he is the one who got river out of the 2nd league when they river got relegated a few years back. He's making a good resume soon some Euro club will pick him up and bye Americas
ALV! PS I once applied to be a mod for the AC Milan forum (since they don't have one to this day) but it didn't go so well (me getting carded was probably an issue). True story. who would you pick to be a realistic candidate for our next coach?
I have no idea , I dont really keep up with the argentina league I just have alot of coworkers who live and bleed river so i get to know some things about it through them. On paper it seems he had a great career as their manager though, bringing River up from the grave and now giving all this Gold to Chivas it seems he can handle the pressure of playing with some of Americas top followed clubs the hinchas in these clubs are soem of the most passionate. I wouldnt be surprised if a top euro club scooped him up soon
They added 10 more teams but that was when River were already back in the 1st division. Unless you were talking about something else
It would seem that accomplished coaches don't want to touch the Mexico job with a 10 foot pole (grabs crotch). Wasn't Piojo like the 5th highest paid coach at the last WC? Its not for lack of money. People probably don't want to deal with the FMF or the drama.
