Probably more for being father of Ian than for his contributions back in the day.

I simply point out how out of touch this FO is compared to where all of us thinks it should be.

We have all been traumatized to the point where we know that the team will not get rid of Ben unless DC misses the playoffs. They always have the bare minimum and we somehow reach it.

Hiring Harksie would bring us a DCU legend who could reinvigorate our traditions. And since no one in the FO could pick him out of a police line-up, they'd have no idea they just hired* a DCU alum.
    Perfect.

*Sorry, Ben. It hurts me even to joke about this.

Change is needed, but my first thought is how many more years does he have left on his deal? Because I am fairly sure that a team that can't afford to hire enough ushers, fix broken sinks & toilet or have someone clean up the cobwebs is not going to have the cash to pay out a year's worth of coaches salary.

I think the club should allow STH to use FAM to be "coach for a week." That way the FO could move Ben upstairs but not have to spend anything more on coaching. The genius of this move is that no MLS coach will know how to gameplan against a new coach each week. I predict a 34-0-0 season. Who's with me on this?

This is a great idea. I've always wanted to try Hamid as a forward.

Every goalkeeper wants to get a chance to play as a field player. They rarely get a chance because goalkeepers tend to be rare and prized.
Of course I'm basing this opinion on a goalkeeper sample of 1.

My 8-1-1 formation should allow us to keep a clean sheet. That's halfway to victory, right?

Well, just put your bid in with FAM and we'll see who goes first. This is the beauty for the FO, they can drain off a great deal of potential FAM early and know that they are revenue positive for the rest of the season. (P.S. don't put it past those ********ers to do something like this for real.)

    A 4-4-2 with a sweeper?

Someone on Twitter the other night wondered if the FO would charge for bathroom access. That would sure shorten the lines at least.

#urinetown was a musical about charging people to use the bathroom. I never saw it, but it seemed like a silly premise. Which is why #dcu would do it.

That would definitely be a Most DC Thing™.

With no roof or walls, the locks would rust in no time.

Like all the rest of the pay toilets in DC establishments, someone would try, and fail, to pop off the mechanism with a crow bar and break it just enough so even a coin wouldn't open the door any more :) Looking at you, the Wendy's @ 1st/Florida/NY Ave :cautious:

This thread seems to have gotten off track. So, i just want to say: Fire Olsen. Or i could be a little nicer and say: Ben, please resign if you have any feelings for this team at all. You're only hurting the thing you love. Spend more time with your family like everyone else who quits a job they're very bad at.

Or just let everyone "water" the pitch at halftime. No lines, no waiting.

    [Adler ducks]

OK, OK, we now return to our regularly-scheduled "Fire Ben Olsen" programming.

Over the last 9 years, it's been interesting to watch so many players that struggled to positively contribute at DCU go off to other teams or into other, higher-tier leagues and perform really well. Tonight reminded me of this phenomenon again.

I wonder why this happens with DC so often.
