I did not say that. CQ has said that he wants better training facilities and all of those things I have listed.

All the notable teams in Asia made it to the final rounds, so there wasn't going to be an "easy" draw regardless. But I am certainly relieved we didn't up in the same group as Saudi Arabia. While I wouldn't rate Uzbekistan below Saudi Arabia necessarily, the fact is that Saudi Arabia have generally been bad news for Iran. The current political climate and the likely shenanigans they would pull, such as having Iran's games in a so-called neutral venue, was more reason to want to avoid them.

As for getting South Korea instead of Japan, it was a toss up for me between them and all things considered, I am fine with having to play the Koreans. Besides S.Korea and Uzbekistan, we would also have to contend with China as well as Qatar. They are both capable of pulling a result against the other teams in this group. I don't know much about the current status of the Syrian team, but on paper if there is a side in this group that appears to have little chance to contend for any of the top 3 positions, it would be Syria. All the rest have a chance, even if S.Korea and Iran would start off as the favorites.

In the other group, I don't give Thailand any chance and don't expect Iraq to be able to take any of the top 3 spots either. My own view is that Australia will top that group, followed by Japan with the Saudis finishing 3rd. The UAE, however, might take the 3rd spot instead.

Incidentally, I believe the two group are well balanced and think an argument can be made for either group being stronger than the other.

i remember him managing China in WC-2002 qualifiers and his famous phrase: 'I'll throw myself down from the Great wall of China if i fail to qualify to WC'. If i amn't mistaken he had participated in WC final rounds five times with 5 different teams

Surely you wrong. Younis Mahmous will ruin it for Iraq. Thailand finish above Iraqi. I expect Omar Abdulrahman to cut hair and lose football IQ. Thailand finish a finish 3rd.

They call Teerasil Dangda the Luis Suarez of Thailand because he has the bite of a war elephant. You should be happy Korea avoided them.

Hwang Hee Chan has nothing on Thossawat Limwannasathian. In Thailand they call him "long name, big game".

    Good draw for Iran.
Iran vs. Korea is a bit boring but the thing is we know how to beat them. I guess we have already got 4 points against them. We've also got 6 points against Syria. Uzbekistan is also good news for us. I don't feel well about China. They will not qualify but they can still be dangerous.
    My prediction:
    1- Iran
    2- Korea
    3- China
    4- Qatar/Uzbekistan
    5- Qatar/ Uzbekistan
    6 Syria
