Could be they just suspended him until the next election. Easy way to get rid of him quickly before taking more drastic measures.

Or they just feared they'd lose the big sponsorships after each one of them threatened to break ties. Their hand was forced because it was clear Blatter wasn't going to budge.

Yeah, I know Coke was putting huge pressure on them. And I'm sure that just creates more panic among the other sponsors until it gets out of control.

How can Platini say this with a straight face ... :ROFLMAO:

Platini admitted he changed his mind about voting for the US after attending a November 2010 meeting hosted by the then-French president Nicolas Sarkozy at his official residence in Paris, which was also attended by senior Qatari officials.

However Platini repeated earlier denials of any impropriety surrounding that meeting and his decision, saying: “Sarkozy never asked me to vote for Qatar, but I knew what would be good.”

Good. He's the same type of scumbag as Blatter, the only difference is the % they take.

FIFA is doomed. The organization instilled a culture of bribes and shadiness to the majority of countries that votes. With the ridiculous voting system that's in place right now, there is no changing that. It's impossible for a capable and honest candidate to get elected.

That was a clear PR damage control stunt.

They know the fans and sponsors are disappointed with the late "saga" and hence need to do something for the sake of correctness.

I'd say John Oliver brought down Blatter.

Sounds like a classic example of high flying hawks waiting for the right moment to seize power.

    Regime change? :p

What do you make of Romario's allegations against Dunga, has he got his hands dirty or is this false?

Are the allegations against Dunga substantiated or a misguidance?

I am not sure. It may be just a general statement about coaches in the past. But Romario definitely has problems with Gilmar. I've seen Gilmar in interviews and either Romario is way off with his judgement or Gilmar is a great liar because he seemed legit to me. Romario has been known to make wrong judgement calls in the past (Zico, Scolari for example).

Thing is, the scale of this saga is so huge it left me completely in distrust of all the governing bodies on both sides of the pond. Seems like the no one in FIFA , UEFA and CBF was left untouched and do not be surprised to see Gilmar being indicted by FBI any time soon. Yes, Zico, Scolari were false accusations and hence they were vindicated. But, lets be honest, who can we trust nowadays?

What has come of Ricardo Teixeira, his case is still pending isn't it?

So Marin was extradited to NYC and then made bail as he pled not guilty. He put up almost $15mil of property as collateral so he can spend his time before his trial at his Trump Tower apartment under house arrest.

So much for justice being served. Sure they may find him guilty but right now he gets to wait for his day in court in the lap of luxury in New York.

I will forever wonder just how the Sarneys have managed to keep their name alive for over 50 years in this country. I thought since the old one retired the rest of the kids would fade away and then this happens. Who wants to bet if Del Nero is forced to step down this Sarney becomes CBF president.
