Things are getting heated. Firmino hits the post and then Gabigol with two good chances.

And we are headed to extra time! 0:0 after regulation.

What drama with the VAR penalty review against Flamengo in stoppage time. I agree that was no penalty. Great match - I look forward to another 30 minutes.

That was a foul outside the box and a red card as last man

Liverpool take the lead 1:0 through Firmino! Brilliant vision by Mane to set him up.

Liverpool have finally done it. After six European titles they finally rule the world.

A big congrats to Flamengo who battled greatly. I truly hope we get to see another such strong Libertadores winner next year for the final edition of the current format.

Flamengo must have been in dreamland taking it to extra time and probably thinking they were going to do us on penalties because that's the only way they could have won

They could have won without being on penalties. Just like Sao Paulo did in 2005.

As Cruyff said: "I've never seen a bag of money win a game."

We lost but I'm very proud of how Flamengo fought today. Unfortunately the gap between Europe and South American clubs is too big nowadays.

    Congrats Liverpool!

    Thanks, breh.

Props to Turco for rolling the dice and coming up aces. The probability was against him succeeding despite the risk. But it worked out.

Too bad it didn't for Tuca vs Seattle in the CCL years ago. The probability for his risk was in his favor, but it didn't work out. You just never know in football.

Good luck for Turco, bad for Tuca. Hopefully a MX team makes the Final next year so they won't have to choose between 3rd place and the league if the dilemma arises again.

Liverpool-Flamengo was good and all, but the one match I've been looking for since the semifinals is between Turco Mohamed and Jurgen Klopp in the ring

Quick question here.... what did you think of Mohamed Salah as the choice for Golden Ball award? I thought VVD or Firmino maybe better choices. Maybe a slight cultural-bias there lol.....

Probably. Only excuse for not picking Firmino is that he barely played in the SF . Even still he did score the winner there.
