Jenny Calendar is a great pick. It's too bad Angelis just snuffed her, because Jenny Calendar as a vampire would have been even better.

If Gringo hasn't posted by 9:15, you can skip minorthreat. Gringo has been up to date enough on this to be given the benefit of the doubt.

. . . ever see the episode of Seinfeld where George explains his technique to get women he's interested in but aren't interested in him to come around. "It's like those commercials," he explains, " By Men-en." Only he switches it to "Co Stan-za." And it/he gets stuck in their head, and they eventually come around.

That's the rebel draft. Only instead of "By Men-en" or "Co Stan-za" it's "Ih Smit-je", and soon enough you will all come around to acceptance of the legitimacy of the rebel draft.

Of course, I can't ever remember having so much fun not being invited to something.

On to the pick, another one bound to stir up jealousy:

It's DR. LUDMILA KROBOPKIN, Russian torturer extraordinaire from The Man Who Knew Too Little! Not in costume, unfortunately. Why Ludmila? Well, I am using her on the administrative side, primarily in the realm of anti-plagiarism enforcement. No more of this "hearing before a committee" followed by a slap on the wrist at my school. No, we start with the slap on the wrist and then move into Ludmila territory.

Is someone supposed to be skipped? I know I'm a couple down, but I don't know if they're going.

At this point I'd say that TSO's time has elapsed, at least. (Although it looks like he's on BS right now.) It's hard to say what's fair after that. I'd say go ahead and if Zinn objects to your pick you guys can negotiate a trade or something?

OK, to try and jumpstart this thread (we only have 4 and a half more rounds, it'd be a shame not to finish the draft), I've gone ahead and expelled Minorthreat for excessive tardiness. His single solitary draft choice is now back on the draft board for anyone who may wish to select him. Ismitje, he of the rebel draft, is not officially an official official of this official draft. TheSlipperyOne has missed his window, and can post his round 6 pick at his leisure. Howard Zinn will be on the clock until 9am tomorrow morning, and he has been PM'd to let him know. For the last few rounds, when you make your selection, please take a minute and PM the person who drafts after you to let them know that they are on the clock (I'd do it for everyone, but the Spring sports season starts tomorrow, and I'll be coaching tennis late into the night). Hopefully this will give us a boost to zip through the rest of this draft.

The standings as they stand right now are:

Someone let me know if this pick isn't cool, but I think he falls under the 'mentor' category. For the sixth round I select...

For the next pick in the faculty draft, I choose one who no one thought would become a teacher... but he did. In order to run each and every shop class at my school.... I pick that extraordinary Italian who was really a Jew.... the coolest teacher around. The only teacher on any of our lists who could snap his fingers and have the ladies come running.... even that X-Men chick with the big balls (what was up with that)...

Thanks to Iceblink for all of the PMs to keep me in the know...

Just in case one of my previous picks is sick, I need a really good substitute teacher, so why not the best?

    Mr. Bergstrom from The Simpsons.

(Yes, I'm really starting to run out of ideas)

For my first pick of round 7, I will select a music teacher for my school. My music teacher comes from one of those movies that you don't generally admit that you like. :p My music teacher will be Sister Mary Clarence.

Okay . . . J.L. Chamberlain was a fake part of my fake draft, which I now make a formal part of my real draft. Would've been my top pick in the real world and may still be my only "real" educator.

    Round 7 -

    Tom Crick, history teacher.

    From Graham Swift's Waterland.

Also played by Jeremy Irons in so-so movie version.

TheSlipperyOne is up, but as he never picked from last round, I think Howard Zinn can skip him. I've PMed them both.
