How a 3-man defence becomes offensive with possession and territory.CBs move wider allowing WBs to become wingers. CMs move forward, pushing AM forward. This makes CFs spread and it becomes a 3-man attack. The WBs join and it becomes a 3-2-5.This is what Solskjær has done. pic.twitter.com/mM2Lj7VsYw— UtdArena (@UtdArena) January 26, 2020 Imagine that this setup could work even better with Williams at LWB. Shaw, as expected, played much further up and even if he was decent in the first half, he still does not feel like an optimal option. With us being short also up front (and loaded at the back), it is another valid reason to consider this formation more going forward. Worked a treat today though, albeit against a poor League One side in all honesty.
Good on Greenwood to get his goal, 0-6. That's his 10th in all comps this season btw. Star boy from the spot 🌟#EmiratesFACup #TRAMUN pic.twitter.com/HTliH7DbyJ— Emirates FA Cup (@EmiratesFACup) January 26, 2020
The anti Glazers/Woodward are in full flow today: The away support has been very vocal today. "We want Glazers out""We want Glazers out""We want Glazers out"https://t.co/OjQiF508Oh— Paul 𝕏 Manc Bald and Bred (@MufcWonItAll2) January 26, 2020
FT - not gonna get in any way excited at beating this team, but was positive that some players who needed to score did
FT: 0-6. A convincing win today, complimented by a clean sheet. Today has brought some much needed (and probably temporary) respite from all the recent negativity. Particularly with the coming week ahead which could prove pretty rough, with games vs City and Wolves on deck and the close of the transfer window. Will contribute towards an enjoyable Sunday at least.
6 - Manchester United have had six different goalscorers in a game for the first time since October 1892, when they won 10-1 against Wolves in the top-flight (also six different scorers). Plethora. pic.twitter.com/Q2zpxEVITQ— OptaJoe (@OptaJoe) January 26, 2020

The only thing to be happy about is Dalot is back. Well that and I could go back to sleep after Lingard scored. I mean, who lets that happen?
A healthy Dalot to spell AWB is a great thing and if we play 352 at least we have a guy that can get forward and is a threat unlike AWB
I think it was mainly to be able to take Matic off who unfortunately has to be in most times now because there's nobody else fit. I'm nonplussed that we weren't able to give time to Garner or Levitt given our needs in that area, but I think given the nature of the competition and the state of the pitch, it was probably a precaution. Obviously the Rashford injury news has put a serious damper on expectations for the season, but that's all the more reason to spend some valuable time developing the academy products. With no depth and not enough players to field a proper XI, much less rotate, we may as well give up on 4th and focus on finding out what we can about the kids.
Agree completely that it's really disappointing we haven't seen more of Garner and/or Levitt. I understand they weren't available until recently (and perhaps Levitt still isn't fully ready), but Garner has come back recently for a fact. There is no reason he couldn't have made the squad yesterday and even taken part, even if it was as a sub: how things turned out, it was perfectly set up for it. Same goes for Gomes tbh: there were rumors circulating prior to the match that he had been sent home for disciplinary reasons. Turns out they were completely unfounded and he even travelled with the team. And therefore could have been selected and featured in the match. It definitely can not be said that Ole has not played the youth, but at the same time, it is disappointing that he hasn't gone further with it. And the sentiment that some of them have been mishandled is very real, in my opinion. With Gomes and to a lesser extent Chong, being atop of the list. And that is an area we need to see improvement upon, especially if the club is going to rely more on academy products going forward. From that perspective, let's hope that Butt will do a good job, as it is, for all intents and purposes, his job now.
good highlights of individual goals were posted but here is the full highlights. thought Chong was unlucky not to take the pk himself
