Right. Give it more time. It's only been 10 years since Hauptman has owned the team. GIVE IT MORE TIME, GUYS!
Why would I? That won't change the fact that Hauptman is the worst owner in pro sports. Give me consecutive years of making the playoffs and competing for a cup and then I'll shut up.
Yes, like we have done in the past. You know, in 1998. Winning MLS Cup would make me do that. AND I would want them to go for it again the next year, and the year after. We were in three MLS Cups in 7 years and none in the past 13. We were in six US Open Cups in the first 10 years and none since. If they want to win back "the fan base," they better act like they are doing that. No, I will be there and cheer, like I have for every fricking playoff game in the past seven years.....oops. No, I will be there and cheer, like I did for every fricking playoff game from 1998-2009.
Rodriguez has done absolutely nothing to make one "believe" in him. I don't give a goddamn how long the Crew took to be resurrected. They can rot in their pee stained hell forever. (By the way, it was THREE years. They failed to make the playoffs in 2005-06-07 and won MLS Cup in 2008 They then missed the playoffs in 2012 and 2013, only to be third in 2014 and make MLS Cup 2015). The Fire have out and out sucked since 2010 and have regressed almost every year.
I care more about the club as a whole than I do about the results on the field from one season. That said, I don't have confidence in Paunovic's tactics right now.
I'm not even sure what his tactics are since he insists on playing Harrington. Every time I think I have an idea I go, "oh shit. wait a minute. that's Harrington. what the hell is he doing there?"
Jones and Shipp starting on the left for Seattle and looking good and dangerous going forward. We started Harrington and Alvarez on the right in the last game.
But we got ALL that TAM/GAM. That's what makes Andi happy, the more he gets the less he has to ask his wife/father in law for money. I'd love to see if he even used any of his wife's/father in laws money this year, considering how much TAM/GAM and allocation we piled up the last two years.
But, Jonathon Campbell is sooooooo much better. Too bad he cannot supplant Harrington by forcing Kappelhoff to the right. Oh, and Colin Fernandez meant we did not need Shipp.

The shocker is that it wasn't the NYRB that hired them. NYRB is like what the Fire would be in an alternate universe.
