Profile on CONCACAF.com: http://www.concacaf.com/article/alvarez-shines-in-hungary-and-for-el-salvador The 30-year-old proved a key player for the club as it captured a second-ever domestic title and qualified for the UEFA Champions League.
They start in the 2nd Qualifying Round against TNS (The New Saints/Total Network Solutions) of Wales on Tuesday July 14th.
Calling him a key player seems like a bit much. Last season, he played a little over 1000 minutes out of a possible 2700.
Videoton won with an extra time goal in the 2nd leg. They face BATE in the next round, difficult matchup.
Alvarez wasn't in the squad for the second leg. I listened to the match on the radio and apparently Videoton's supporters were angrily gesticulating at the owner's box and chanting for the return of last year's manager.
Called in for WC qualifying. Still without a club: http://www.concacaf.com/article/el-salvador-reveals-wcq-roster
