As I said. Some of the players didn't want him in the first place. No surprise they turned now. The refusal to play some of the younger players was annoying as well. Gray, Ndidi, Chilwell, Kapustka, Amartey are the basis of a decent young side. 4 of whom were bought in the last 12 months or so. All of them should have been brought into the side or played more. With the older players not being happy, I am not surprised they didn't play more. I expect a clear out in the summer. Whichever division we are in. Club has been there since 1884 - This isn't even in the top 5 of bad things that have happened.
Future UEFA CL games to be broadcast on... Turner Sports. http://awfulannouncing.com/soccer/t...-s.html?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter
I remember a day where there was almost no soccer on TV at all. We'll see how they do. One can always turn the sound off.
Sneaking like an elephant..... [Tho actually elephants sneak rather well IRL, as they walk on their toes.]
I go back more to "Soccer Made in Germany" and the immortal Toby Charles. But I have (or used to have) Beta tapes of that World Cup (or was it 1986). Was it Univision? I even tried to have a party for the first game--only a couple people, if that, showed up. How times have changed....
My best SMIG story is when I was an exchange student in Germany at the University of Cologne. Cologne were playing Duisburg and I got a group to go to the match (10 of us, which was a third of our group). A couple weeks later, one of the gals got a letter from her folks stating that they had seen a game on PBS and suggested she go to one. Her reply: "I was there--you didn't look close enough." As we were at midfield, down low (cheaper tickets actually--the upper bowl was seats and more expensive), we probably would have been able to be seen. If you've seen the you-tube video put up by Kenn Tomasch, I was at that game as well. It was very odd to come home that summer and watch re-runs of matches I'd been at....
Nowadays, you'd still get only a couple people if only because there'd be so many places to watch the game.
So let's look at Saturday. Hull City at 10, Crew at 2, USWNT at 5, Arsenal/Pool or Schalke/G'bach. We have come a long way.

Premier league and champions league soccer on a regular basis. Consistently challenging for the title and in cup competitions. No threat of relegation. Tons of money and "hands off" ownership. Big stadium large crowds. Stability. Yeah must be ********ing awful.
But never really contending in league and always getting it handed to them in the first KO round of CL. Really? When was that? Maybe domestic cups on occasion. What good is money if it never leads to anything? No threat of relegation, that we can agree on.
Yeah must be ********ing awful.
So the fans should be happy finishing 3-4 in league and never really being competitive with the European elites? Especially, as you say, tons of money and a packed house. 7 straight years of first KO round exits in the CL and those series weren't even close to competitive. I guess I don't share your opinion.

But hey, as a Chelsea fan, I hope they never get rid of Wenger.
As a Chelsea fan you would know what it's like to not have any champions league or title chases or cup runs and know what relegation feels like. I am surprised you feel sorry for arsenal fans who not only want their cake but to eat it to. Boo hoo
