In a meaningless match for Spain but with Euro 2016 qualification implication for the home team, Spain travels to Kiev and takes on the Ukraine today at 1145 hrs PST, 1445 hrs EST. The match will be shown on ESPN2 and ESPN Deportes. VDB will more than likely give some of the lesser used players a chance to gain some playing time and exposure in todays match. Standings. -----------PJ PG PE PP PT 1 España 9 8 0 1 24 2 Eslovaquia 9 6 1 2 19 3 Ucrania 9 6 1 2 19 4 Bielorrusia 9 3 1 5 10 5 Luxemburgo 9 1 1 7 4 6 Macedonia 9 1 0 8 3 In the other matches today: LUX-SLO BEL-MAC
Starting XI for the Furia Roja: De Gea; Mario, Nacho, Etxeita, Azpilicueta; San José, Cesc (c), Thiago; Isco, Nolito y Alcacer.
well defensively we've been opened up time and time again. De Gea has played well so has kept Ukraine from scoring.
Our defense is horrible + Ukrainians can't shoot to save their lives. Very disappointed with Nolito y Alcacer. we look so disorganized..
Ukraine should be winning this game though... I'm wondering which players won't make it to the final 23 man squad for Spain. Quite a few number of very good or excellent players who'll probably be starters if they played for another country will probably miss out. Too many quality players especially in the midfield and wing foward possitions to pick from.
oh I know. Just like several other players will start but have no business doing so. I think we have enough talent to win the Euros again but we won't see it due to the stubbornness and "loyalty" of Del Bosque
Spain will find out what group they will be top seeded in and the other teams in their group on the 12 December. Euro 2016 starts on 10 June and ends one month later on 10 July. La Liga finishes 13/14 May Europa League Final 18 May Copa del Rey Final 21 May CL Final 28 May Friendlies lined up so far for the Furia Roja are as follows: 13 Nov. Spain-England 17 Nov. Belgium-Spain 21-29 March FIFA Friendlies Scheduled Aupa Espanha y La Furia Roja!
and if the last 4-5 years are any indication the finals 4 of both CL and Europa League will have 2-4 Spanish teams... not good for La Roja.. not this year at least.
After 2006 World Cup... Thread: "Why haven't Spain won anything yet?" Spain v Portugal South Africa 2010, Round of 16... Spain v Portugal EURO 2012, Semifinals...
Thanks you UncleSox for providing us with those historic postings above! I love the internet because stupid things that people say always remain out there so when they continue to say stupid things while they are trolling they can get outed once again for saying those stupid things that they somehow forgot they said long ago because well.......... they are stupid! BTW-The Portugal NT Forum must be quiet of late! Guess it's time to close the thread!
