You're a hypocrite. The number of times you have called James, Teso or myself out, without us addressing you, is in the double digits.
You know why we are such a big brand? So popular? Because we used to play attacking football and win that way, cant see Mourinho last too many seasons.
FT: 0-0. Disappointing we couldn't do more offensively, but getting a point at Anfield is never a bad thing.
Wow...what a tactical masterclass. Made no attempt to try and win that game. Is this what we have to look forward to when we visit City, Chelsea, Arsenal and Spurs?
I'm not going to watch any more games against the other top-6 teams this season. Why bother? It will be parking the bus again and again hoping for a point. Mourinho can fck off with that shyte. I have better things to be doing than watching that dross.
The antithesis of the beautiful game today. I really think Liverpool were there to be had, but we just didn't want to attack them. I understand Mourinho's pragmatism, but goddamn is it awful to watch sometimes. Pool had very few good chances, but we didn't string more than 3 passes together all match. I have a bad taste in my mouth.
We'll see. Pogba would have been massive. He can hold the ball up under pressure better than anyone on our team and it would have allowed for us to make 2nd and 3rd runs off the ball.
Very poor performance second half. Bigger picture, against the top 6 draw the away games and win some home games means this an ok result, but not an ok performance.
The thing is Liverpool are not that good. They huffed and puffed and DDG only had one decent save to make. Why park the bus against them?
He's basically saying to his players. 'Sorry lads, the other top 4 teams in the league are just better than you lot...stay in your own half, and hoof it away if you get pressed. The best we can hope for is a 0-0'. And people wonder why the players struggle. It's because Jose has created a negative aura even before the ball is kicked.
That's why it's fair to be pretty disappointed with our lack of adventure today. Probably could have got more, if we really tried. Mentioned that Pool's defense was there for the taking and nothing I've seen today really changes that. Putting that aside, big picture wise, I'll take the point here and hope somehow that Jose will have more confidence in the team and be more positive in future away games vs the top 6.
Away fans only ones left in ground for security, completely drowning out Carragher and Sky post-match
The objective is to lift the EPL trophy, not to pursue entertaining football at all costs. Without Pogba, Bailly and Fellaini we were without our best midfielder, our best defender and our, for lack of a better term not yet invented, our destroying-attacker specialist. We've become accustomed to finding Fellaini at the end of a cross and without that option today -- and without our best midfield and best defender -- we were short on quality and a point at Anfield under these circumstances, including our first match after the international break, is actually a very good result. Of the two managers, Mourinho is clearly the happier of the two with the final score. We had our chance -- Lukaku at the end of the first half -- but we couldn't convert on it. It wasn't beautiful football by any means, but if that's what anyone here is looking for beautiful football from a Mourinho side it may be a good idea to look elsewhere. Mourinho is all about winning trophies, not playing champagne football.
What a suck up Phil Jones is. Also really short of memory.........I remember all the Sir Alex versions of Utd vs Liverpool, what uniformly awful games they all were. Maybe Phil never played in any of them, and never watched any of them from the sidelines either. Jeez, now, City are soooooooooooo wonderful. Any idea when any of our midfield is going to be back? Have they all been kidnapped?
Mou saying on Sky that good energy in midfield first half against three, but that Herrera and Mitic tired and with no Carrick, Fellaini and Pogba no means for him to change it from bench other than putting more energy up front in Lingard and Rashford.
Jose stank up the joint today, but he will not care one bit. www.manchestereveningnews.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/liverpool-vs-manchester-united-mourinho-13761640
Match report from guardian:" If nothing else, Liverpool should probably take it as a compliment that Manchester United would choose to approach the game this way. It was the second successive season this fixture has ended in a goalless draw and it didn’t need an overly suspicious mind to deduce that José Mourinho had decided the priority was to avoid being beaten – and to hell with anyone who might question their tactics. Mourinho’s team had averaged three goals a game from their previous seven Premier League fixtures but this was the first time they had faced any of the sides in the top 12 positions. Mourinho altered his tactics accordingly and the second half, in particular, was an exercise in defensive resilience directly beneath the Kop. Liverpool were unable to break them down and Mourinho, remember, has already made it clear what he thinks about the people who might question his methods. For the story of this game, refer to his quote after last season’s Europa League final: “There are lots of poets in football, but poets don’t win many titles.” https://www.theguardian.com/footbal...manchester-united-premier-league-match-report
