When: Sunday, November 25, 8:30 EST Where: Dean Court Tv: NBCSN The bigman bowl is here—the battle between his two loves—Arsenal and Eddie Howe. A Sunday early game after a long international break against a decent opponent is a tricky prospect. Bournemouth will have had plenty of time to prepare for us which can neutralize some of our strengths. Maybe Emery has a trick up his sleeve. Not sure about the result, but I expect a similar game to the palace game.
I haven't seen or heard much news about our boys who played Internationals over the break. So hopefully no news is good news, injury-wise. And I was heartened to see Kos show up in the training pictures from yesterday, but a little disappointed that Nacho is still not apparent. I feel like our LB deficiencies are going to bite us in the butt. Happy Thanksgiving to all of the Yankee Gooners on BigSoccer. And shoot, to @thebigman and everyone else too! p.s. LOL, that photo above is Leicester's stadium not Bournemouth's
This is not going to be an easy game for Arsenal.Although the team is playing good but they still have room to improve.
And not made any easier by the news that Auba picked up some sort of back injury while away w/ Gabon, and Laca pulled out of France duty with some mysterious ailment. [emoji20] Edit: fixed my careless mistake on PEA's nationality.
Arsenal: Leno, Bellerin, Sokratis, Mustafi, Holding, Kolasinac, Torreira, Xhaka, Mkhitaryan, Iwobi, Aubameyang. Subs: Cech, Maitland-Niles, Elneny, Ramsey, Ozil, Guendouzi, Nketiah.
Laca's injury keeps him out of the squad. Thankfully Auba is deemed fit... and finally playing as CF! But if that wasn't the case, we'd be seeing Nketiah starting. With Welbz long-term injury, you gotta think we may be toying with a new forward in January. Very glad to see Sokratis back in the XI. Hope he does well in the back 3!
Ozil on the bench. And virtually no controversy over that. Telling. This is about as much of a "must win" as we've had this season. Without that, we'll be 4 points adrift of the top four. COME IN YOU!
They might feel aggrieved at a debatable offside call that could have led to 1-0. But my question is: why does Mustafi always have to go to ground??
