Good luck, @Reeceoxford_!https://t.co/WwJ4I8IDqS— West Ham United (@WestHam) January 31, 2018 Well that was worth it.
That's what I thought. He got recalled just as he was starting to get games at Monchengladbach to do next to nothing for his duration back at West Ham. Now he's going back and no doubt will have to start on the bench again and back to square one. Just feels like miss management of this kid.
You'll have to do your own translations here, but basically Mount is the Eredivisie young player of the month.
This one caught me off guard but Lookman has joined RB Leipzig until the end of the season. Very interesting.
🇩🇪 | Everton forward @Alookman_ will spend the rest of the season on loan at German @Bundesliga_EN side @RBLeipzig_EN.Good luck, Ademola! pic.twitter.com/flAowGPLRY— Everton (@Everton) January 31, 2018
It's like the Oxford loan on repeat: Highly rated young English player goes from a so-so English club to a better German club but will probably get more game time because paucity of English opportunity.
Yeah, German Clubs in particular are looking more and more at English talents as they can see the potential and have the patience to blood them in. Wouldn't surprise me if Leipzig might have some sort of option to buy him in the Summer if it works out well. Really hope he does well.
Just to confirm Really happy to join @HellasVeronaFC on loan🇮🇹✍🏾. Wishing my team mates and Newcastle fans all the best for the rest of the season! 🤙🏾 pic.twitter.com/ABWXcJiizG— Rolando Aarons (@RolandoAarons) January 31, 2018
So Sam didn't want to send Lookman out on loan but it was quite obvious that he wasn't going to use him so what did he have planned for Lookman and his development I wonder?!? Premier League 2!!! Glad Lookman forced through the move tbh, clearly understands what would have happened if he had stayed for the rest of the season under big Sam. http://www.bbc.com/sport/football/42897189
Currently abroad: Permanent: Danny Collinge (Stuttgart/U20), Mandela Egbo (Gladbach/U21), Jordan Rossiter (Rangers/U21), Chris Willock (Benfica/U20), Kaylen Hinds (Wolfsburg/U20), Dan Crowley (Willem II/U21), Muktar Ali (Vitesse/U21), George Green (Viking/U21), Jadon Sancho (BVB/U18), Denzeil Boadu (BVB/U21), Marcus McGuane (Barcalona B/U20) Loans: Reece Oxford (Gladbach/U20), Mason Mount (Vitesse/U19), Elliott Moore (OH Leuven/U21), Brandon Barker (Hibs/U21), Patrick Roberts (Celtic/U21), Ademola Lookman (Leipzig/U21) Colkett, Smith-Brown, Buckley-Rickets, Kent and Harrison have all returned to England. McGuane and Lookman have gone the other way (Aarons and Akpom aren't in the list as no longer U21 eligible). Freddie Woodman has gone back to Scotland ...he's another one Newcastle don't seem to know what to do with.
Green has been released by Viking. Hinds has got a loan to Greuther Firth in the Bundesliga 2. Demetri Mitchell is on loan at Hearts. Mukhtar Ali has now represented Saudi Arabia.
Great to see this list of kids going abroad increasing year on year. Just only a few years ago I bet there was only one or two compared with the amount now. Let's just hope Brexit doesn't pose a huge obstacle for for the continued exodus to the Continent.
Just gone on a half-season loan to SC Cambuur in the Dutch second tier. Welcome at our beautiful club and kick some ass @danielcrowley24! 💛💙 #Cambuur #Arsenal pic.twitter.com/1fcWoLj6iq— SC Cambuur (@SCCambuurLwd) January 31, 2018
I wonder where it's all gone wrong for Crowley? Used to think he was really talented and sure he would make it to the top but now it seems highly unlikely, especially if he can't get games for Willem II & now loaned out to a second division team in Holland doesn't bold well.
It's crazy really. He's either got to have something seriously wrong with his approach or just a less obvious flaw in his game to be held back by it this much. Hopefully he can mature and still be a late bloomer, but this is way below what his talent should be allowing him to achieve. Still, games are games. Let's just hope he's starting.
You used to hear quite a lot about his attitude being an issue and if that's true I wonder if that's something that has predominantly played a part in holding him back. Heard similar tales about Edwards attitude also, again speculation but it would be a English football travesty if both these talented kids were to fall by the wayside imo.
He went straight into the starting line-up for today's match against Roma. They lost, but still - promising start.
That photo of Crowley shaking hands with Roy Hodgson (then England manager) where he did the bad manners thing of looking in the opposite direction, rather than at him, might have been an indication of his character.
