To be honest I hadn't forgotten him - I'm just less and less convinced by him with every performance that I see, to the point where I find myself wondering why he was ever moved into midfield. He's clearly not useless, but he doesn't pass that well and the ball just seems to be bouncing off him half of the time. That said, I probably should have included him because he's exactly the sort of hustling, tactically complaisant cog that England managers seem to love, and I wouldn't be at all surprised to see him become a slightly frustrating fixture in senior squads if he does get away from Chelsea. Would be nice to have to eat my words though, obvs. Preferably due to Chalobah's excellent performances rather than his absence from squad lists.
Of the CM's with over 1000 PL touches this season these are the options to choose from - Henderson - injured Dier - in squad Barkley - injured Drinkwater Livermore - in squad Dele Alli - in squad Adam Clayton Lallana - in squad Adam Forshaw Mark Noble Gareth Barry Jack Cork Huddlestone Surman Carrick Wilshere JWP Oxlade-Chamberlain - in squad Cleverley Gosling Tom Davies Tom Carroll
I don't think so, at least not in the short term. Ings on the other hand, I think the writing is on the wall.
I've long thought that rather than just follow what foreigners do to keep up with best coaching practice, we should be coming up with our own ideas and innovations. This country has always been admired for its innovative flair (in other fields). It seems England have recruited "the world's no.1 attacking coach". He is Scottish. I hope he encourages the players not to kick the ball over the bar all the time, keeping shots under eight feet high. Suggest they get over the ball more when shooting and not scooping under it. Like they used to tell 10 year olds. Explain to them what a decent cross looks like. Also drill in to them the benefits of the pull back when crossing, rather than just putting it where the keeper can easily collect it and where defenders are massed on the line. Etc. http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/fo...ate-hires-Scot-England-s-attacking-coach.html
stuff like this is becoming more and more common nowadays, especially here and in the US. Loads of the players are seeing coaches for 1 on 1 sessions away from their clubs. Almost like Basketballers do during the summer in the NBA. https://www.instagram.com/gps_soccerassassins/?hl=en this guy is churning out loads of players in the US, he's a Scarborough lad. But there's loads of them still in the UK too who are capitalising on the growth of social media and have loads of pro and academy clients.

We'll be without @vardy7 for this month's games after he picked up a minor injury yesterday. #threelions https://t.co/2bcLUzMLmw— England (@England) June 7, 2017
No replacement called up which I'm not surprised at but think it might have been worth calling up Welbeck as he's back fit again ( I think )
NO doubt he got injured in the army camp... he can break open his WKD stash early ,now his season is done ..
Harry Kane will wear the armband tomorrow night #wcq https://t.co/MxELjxozeF— PA Dugout (@PAdugout) June 9, 2017
On paper I like this starting line up. Good spine of technical options and Alli further up the pitch in the role that suits him best.
The writing was on the wall for Ings before he played his first competitive game for Liverpool - and I think I said so at the time, on here.
