The saddest part is that we have a demigod sitting on the bench and for some ungodly reason he isn't playing... even when our starting 11 are dying on the field...
We were totally overrun in the 2nd half, I can't think of what Totti could've possibly done with the team chasing shadows out there?!
I would say no, absolutely not. Formation is not the problem. Fatigue is. We switched to a back 4 against Napoli and we all know how that went. Fortunate to concede only 2 goals in that match.
Yep, even Totti wouldn't have magically saved this team. De Rossi, Strootman and Nainggolan have been run into the ground by Mr.Spalletti, which makes it easy to overrun the midfield. With no midfield, there can be no attack nor defence. That, for me, is the biggest issue here.
Yeah, because football is a game where squad quality is the only factor that counts and the team with the better squad always wins.
Paredes workrate was top notch in the few minutes he played yesterday. 839958727285440518 is not a valid tweet id
You can see how exhausted Strootman is yet Paredes goes back the same speed he does. If we stick with the 3-4-2-1 next season Paredes is a goner. It only works with two CMs who run their asses off and boss the opponent by actually knowing how to defend and tackle. The only position Paredes works out in is as a regista in a 4-3-3 covered by two such CMs.
It's down to Signore Spalletti - despite him been a world class coach, he does have issues with players. He wasted Montella's last few years as a player because of personal issues. Odd why he would do it to Totti though......
The Lacazette goal was a dagger. Lazy team defense and a screamer of a shot. The wheels are nearly off for us now.
One big thing the team has missed over this 5 game debacle is Flo. And not as a replacement for Peres but as a cog in our midfield. If he were healthy I have no doubt the Mister would have rotated the midfield through out this run and the midfielders themselves would be in much better condition right now.
Florenzi has been sorely missed no question. This was always likely to be the case sadly. His versatility, energy and workrate would have been immensely useful during this period.
I agree with Sir Dr. Lord Horatio Nelson, Esquire. Everyone sucks. They should all have their legs amputated. They will receive their legs back upon scoring their first goal.
Surprised at the reaction from Spalletti and the team in general. Two away goals is still pretty huge going into the home match.
Yup I agree. And its not like Lyon are superior to Roma in any way. Honestly on a normal day Roma are the better team on paper, and are more than capable.
In case you were wondering Jimmy's take on things the last few weeks and I know so many of you were. https://soundcloud.com/siriusxmfc/a...presses-his-displeasure-with-the-loss-to-lyon
