Where: Emirates Stadium When: Wednesday, Sept 26th, 2:45pm EST TV: ESPN+ I think has the league cup this year so that’s another $4.99/mo of you are so inclined. Couldn’t find anything on Spanish tv. Would love to keep the winning streak alive but honestly couldn’t give a toss about this tournament. I don’t think we have the squad depth in defense to think of winning this tournament. Brentford are 7th in the championship and can score goals so this one might not be a walk in the park. I think we will have to play a reserve LB and no idea about CB. Sokratis banged up and mustafi getting a few knocks as well. I’d say: ————-Leno Leich—mus—Holding—janitor’s kid ———-elneny—-guen Danny—esr—iwobi ———nketieh 3-1, nketieh hatty.
a good mid-week opportunity for some junior and lesser utilized players to get some game-time. Perhaps the manager can try out and tinker with a few things here and there as well. Other than that, we really don't need additional league cup games right now with our defense as thin as it is.
FYI, the match is Weds 9/26 (not 9/25). I only wonder if this will get me to pony up for ESPN+ within the next 48hrs. But I'm pretty sure this thread is gonna be a ghost town. Still thanks again to @crazy150 for keeping us rolling along nonetheless.
Jenks is still an Arsenal player, not sure what the story is there however. Let's not forget he made an appearance for England under Roy Hodgson in 2012, so he should come good any day now.
ESPN+ has a free trial so you can watch this and then cancel. Next round if we make it isn’t until late October I think. Speaking of the fragmentation, I got pretty annoyed this weekend. I have nbcsn with my tv service and separately pay for nbc gold. Was trying to watch some of the city game and couldn’t get it bc “I don’t subscribe” to whatever was needed. I was very annoyed.
Last I heard he came back from his loan at Brum, was with the team in pre-season then had a little injury. And then... black hole! Not that I ever loved him that much, but WTF? He's not on our DL. Has he dropped off a cliff either physically or psychologically?
City put out a much stronger squad then I expected. Of course they have the depth. United as well. I’d guess pool and Chelsea will both take their game seriously. I hope Emery finds the right balance with rotation. We are desperately thin at the back.
I know. Still a pretty strong squad. Lukaku, lingard, matic. He rotated the defense and Pogba wasn’t even in the squad.
Doing the 7-day trial of Espn+. At least I get to hear Peter Drury, one of my favorite announcers. COYG!!!!
Wow, he's not really going with any kids, except for Smith-Rowe. And that includes playing Nacho once again. Ugh. Pray.
Leno with a near OG in the opening minutes. Perhaps he's not much better than Cech in that regard after all.
I recall playing against Nico in the last few years. Did we play Brentford recently or was he on another team then??
Surprisingly great crowd tonight. Lower bowl is basically full up. A huge contrast to our last midweek game in Europa. Maybe the low EFL ticket prices are responsible? Or maybe English fans just like to go see English cups and English teams more?
The beeb says Brentford and Arsenal have not played since 1947. Maybe on loan at Wycombe or Bournemouth in a cup tie?
I'm watching on the ESPN app on my iPad. It's blocked when I try to watch on my laptop. If you have the ESPN on your smartphone, that should work, too.
