I see the EFL still hasn't bothered to change its clock graphic during stoppage time as they continue to show a red clock against a dark blue background, making it very difficult to read.
Just took a survey that seems to indicate ESPN is leaning towards a paywall for sports leagues/games that cannot be found on ESPN/2/non-streaming. Thx, Jay!
It's also possible this is for a standalone service offered to cord-cutters, and not something that will be taken away from cable subscribers.
True. But I get the feeling it might be OTT like NBC Gold. If you want to stream certain events, you pay extra.

I have an HR-44, which is older technology, so I assume it works on anything newer than that, as well. When you tune into ESPN (206) or ESPN2 (209) you can hit the remote's red button and you get dumped into a modified Watch ESPN interface. Lots of ESPN3 live streaming accessible via your TV remote. The quality is excellent. Actually looks better than regular live ESPN. So far, all of the EFL matches have been available to live stream via the red button option.
Unfortunately, I think that is exactly what ESPN is doing with these rights. I subscribe to ESPN/ESPN2 as part of my expensive cable package through Time Warner/Spectrum. I can watch the EFL Championship matches on the WatchESPN app on my iPhone, but I can't chromecast the matches onto my regular TV.
And here it is. Content we've already paid for now becomes content we have to pay extra for to see. https://www.bigsoccer.com/threads/the-2017-mls-tv-thread.2039356/page-16#post-35747726 Thx, Jay!
Is ESPN3 always buggy? I'm trying to watch the Villa-Colchester match via my PS4 and I can't get through more than 30 seconds without the stream stalling. I even attached the ethernet cord just in case the wireless signal was a bit dodgy, but problems continue. Is this the usual way of things?
Interesting. I've been watching the same match via PS4 and it's been fine all the way through. I had similar problems to you with a championship match this past weekend, though.
I'm having issues right now with bigsoccer actually. Streaming Leeds, streaming music, have Outlook open for email and web browsing. No issues with either stream. Thx, Jay!
I've been streaming the Leeds match and it's buffered a few times, once to the extent I had to back out and reload it but it's been OK for the most part.
I watched the same game and not a single rebuffering. The only issue was that the feed cut out and I got a screen with the espn logo for about 10 seconds at about the 70th minute.
Matchweek 2: ENGLISH LEAGUE CHAMPIONSHIP Sat Aug 12 10:00 AM Brentford vs. Nottingham Forest Sat Aug 12 12:30 PM Middlesbrough vs. Sheffield United
The lone Sunday match, Norwich-Sunderland, isn't available. It's on directly against Newcastle-Tottenham, so I guess Sky isn't picking it up.
Yep. It was pushed to Sunday because Sunderland are playing in the Cup tonight (Thursday), not for TV.
Roku, my friend. From one weekend sample, ESPN3's stream offers a better picture than beIN HD broadcast. The Football League is such a niche sport in the US with a minuscule audience, I really am not going to complain that it's streaming only. The reliability and access level are really pretty astounding for a lower tier league.
Yeah, great stream, schedule weeks in advance, and we'll never get stuck with the beIN 'talent'. Also limiting the amount of times that I have to dig around my computer for a different browser to be able to watch beinConnect. Much better until it becomes something I have to pay for.
The beIN connect website is a lot better than it was last year but you are right. It would be nice to have a Windows 10 app.
