    Cardona is what Cardona is.

As I have said many times he has all the talent in the world but he is a ticking time bomb that can go off at any time and hurt the teams he plays for.

Pekerman does not get enough credit for keeping him on his best behavior for the most part.

I wish his last 6 months had ended on better terms. He has so much skill but we all know the non-futbol issues follow him. Still at his prime.

But if it's keeping him from playing or losing his opp to play at a club like Boca... It's nontrivial.

I think it has to do with Cardona not being an unmined diamond. Monterrey expects a hefty fee and he has likely high salary demands. If this was a Deportes Tolima transfer for $2mm bucks they would have closed the deal months ago. Personally, I think he's worth the "risk" but this CL snuff is def the straw that breaks the camels back. This is all on management and I dont see BS necessarily putting up the big fight to keep him.

Speaking of the Libertadores, I just realized that the games will be played on Saturdays.
That is going to be interesting. In some ways I like the change. I rather all big events be held on the weekend.

In some ways it will be very weird. Especially since the two teams playing are from the same Country.
It may not feel like a Copa Libertadores match but more like a typical Argentina Clasico match on the weekend.:ROFLMAO:

I'm just tired of two-match finals. It takes a lot of the gravity away. I guess the concern would be attendance at a neurtal ground maybe...

Also, the Saturday matches are going to be 2 weeks apart. Lame

I personally don't have strong feelings either way. Usually in a situation like this I just stay with the status quo (if it ain't broke), But playing a neutral site match would be very interesting too.

I prefer the two game format. Any given day one game can go in any direction. Two games tells the full story and leaves out margin for excuses.

Although........in two games, there is more room for “gamesmanship” and playing just for that away goal which is debatable. I also like with one game that all the marbles are at stake. I think there should be a winner in both final games, no draws.

I’m excited for this final. I’ll be in Mexico this weekend so gotta find a place on Saturday to watch!!

The away goals do not count in the Final but I understand completely where you were going with that. Teams can just play for draws after winning the first game which I do not like in a two game setup.

Rumor has it in Colombian media and some Argentine media that Cardona will start along side the other two Colombianos.

Let's see if he can rise up to the occasion. It will be very interesting to see what he can do after not being a factor at all the last few Libetadores matches.
