Eder Arreola one of the few college players with the U-20s in Guatemala is considering leaving UCLA for a pro career. He is considering Europe, but seems most interested in a move south of the border to the Mexican league. http://usa10kit.com/2011/04/04/rowe-arreola-may-be-anxious-to-test-pro-waters/ (the article also mentions Kelyn Rowe is considering a pro career but doesn't mention any specific destinations) His UCLA bio Definitely one to watch for the Summer transfer window.
I wasn't impressed with him vs. Paraguay. Many others were, so I'm thinking I missed something. In my defense, I was babysitting at the time. It appeared to me that every time he made an offensive move he ended up just lamely running into someone and killing the play. Did I miss some positive moves? Was the I watching the wrong person?
He had the secondary assist on both goals against Panama. The 2nd goal was a very nice play by Arreola dribbling into the space that Garza cleared out and then the pass that made it's way to Lletget after the Doyle dummy.
I've seen eder play recently this past season at UCLA and he has a lot of potential and talent to play abroad. I've heard he wants to play either in Mexico or Europe but I'm pretty sure he plans on staying at UCLA for his senior season, unless he gets offered a big contract.
I thought for a 10-20 minute stretch in the first half he was very good but he quickly lost it in the second half. I agree with you, he made poor play after poor play during the 2nd half. If you can't sustain any skill beyond 20 minutes you really didn't have a good game. Quality is success over time and that time is 90+ minutes.
Done With First Practice...It Was Intense and the Altitude Definitely Got Me Felt Like I Couldn't Breath. Thank God For This Opportunity. http://twitter.com/#!/earreola7/status/88097060536066048
From his recent tweets it looks like he is considering MLS and Mexico. He has also signed with an agency that deals a lot with Mexican clubs and players.
Interesting, not one mention of the last name of Eder. Maybe the BS group is becoming more dignified and mature!
Don't worry, Sandon Milbut already covered that years ago in the YNT forum: https://www.bigsoccer.com/forum/showpost.php?p=14333294&postcount=10
He'd been hinting at this on Twitter -- a move to Mexico: GUADALAJARA, Mexico – One by one, the players of US Open Cup sensation Cal FC are starting to find their feet in the professional world. The latest to sign is forward Eder Arreola, who will begin his pro career at Delfines del Carmen in Mexico's third division on a one-year contract.http://www.mlssoccer.com/news/artic...n-exports-cal-fc-forward-arreola-heads-mexico
I'm honestly disappointed he's in the mexican third division. I believe he is MLS reserves / NASL quality right now. He is a little undersized for MLS and he came out of UCLA's possession-oriented system, so maybe those two strikes prevented a club in the states from signing him. I don't know. Wish him luck and hopefully he can work his way up. saw him score a nice goal up here at buck shaw vs. SCU last year 30 second mark):
Well, a club in the States DID sign him: CAL FC. But the Mexican third division is almost surely a step up from the USASA, and if he dominates at that level he'll move up quickly.
