Who wants to bet on the regular season finale being home or away? Will they make it 6 years in row ending the season away?
Wait until they pull out the "the team doesn't fully control BBVA Compass Stadium" scheduling excuse. I think even @troutseth gave up that argument. TSU has home games on Sept 30 and Nov. 11 at least.
There's an awesome buzz in the room with the schedule dropping soon. Great time for the new Orange Sales Academy reps to shadow our AE's. pic.twitter.com/n9YO2HUA2N— Shawn McIntosh (@shawn_mcintosh) January 11, 2017
Have to admit that I don't really get the excitement over a schedule coming out. It's one thing in the NFL, for example, where you play different teams each year. With MLS, where is the excitement/surprise factor? Oh look, we are playing FC Dallas 3 times again. We're away to NYCFC and home to Orlando. Whoopee!!!!
Since I am no longer a STH it's not that important although in the past i would look at it just to see how many games I would miss due to planned vacations and other things. I'll look at it today when it comes out to see how many unnecessary conflicts they scheduled with the Astros. But yes, it's another team and ticket staff manufactured enthusiasm event. Are you really gonna close a group sales deal for a late August game with Vancouver later today? And the NFL is all a scheduling formula so you know the opponents, just not that dates/days.
Okay I get it. We suck. FO is incompetent etc etc. Do we have to bash everything? There is excitement in every footie league when the schedule is out. You specifically want to know when we play Frisco and the Wizards. When LA is coming or NYC/RB etc. Also, planning out certain events or mini vacations to see your team play away. I am def doing AU away if that's happening this year.
Who is bashing the Dynamo on schedule? This is universal to all MLS teams and the league. The build up and marketing is like they are unveiling the cure for cancer.
Schedule released - my quick glance shows NO (as in ZERO!!!!) conflicts with Astros games! That is just simply amazing since we were told last year the club had limited impact on the schedule and blah, blah, blah amazingly and just purely conincidentally this year we have no conflicts? What are the odds the schedule program that the team claimed they had little control over happened to spit out game dates that lined up with NO Astros games??!! Yeah, so I badly lose my call on the over/under with Astros conflicts at 5 but also at least win a tacit acknowledgement that they tried to shove a crap sandwich of conflicts down our throat and it clearly impacted tickets sales and revenues
I've studied a little bit about how the premier league schedules yearly, and they only give teams the right to request to move one match per season before they release the schedule.

Teams have 12 hours post release to request a limited amount of changes to be reviewed and approved. Teams that suck get more freedom since National TV networks want less to do with them.

We have 7 home games in our first 10 overall. Only 3 home games in the next 11. The next 9 are pretty even with 4 home games and then we get 3 out 4 at home to finish the season.
