http://somosinvictos.com/2016/07/19...a-seleccion-de-mexico-u23-vencio-a-zacatepec/ Cubo played half the game in Mexico U23's 2-0 win over Zacatepec last night. They play again against Argentina on July 28 before heading to Rio.
http://www.houstondynamo.com/post/2...machado-called-panama-national-team-world-cup Machado has been called up for Panama's upcoming WCQs. He should not miss any Dynamo games.
http://www.chron.com/sports/dynamo/...o-Honduran-10998747.php?cmpid=twitter-desktop The article says that they will leave after the Portland game on March 18.
Beasley called up for the U.S. next week. I guess he has officially un-retired. http://www.houstondynamo.com/post/2...ates-men-s-national-team-world-cup-qualifying
https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/...asley-named-usmnt-roster-world-cup-qualifying Beasley will miss the RSL and Seattle league games this week. https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/...d-honduras-national-team-world-cup-qualifying The Dynamo do not have another league game until June 17 so the Hondurans should not miss any league games barring injury. Houston does travel to North Carolina for an Open Cup game on June 14. Beasley, Elis, Quioto, and Boniek Garcia may all miss that game.
Torres is on the Mexico 40-man provo roster for Gold Cup. No one on the US 40-man, which says something. Now we wait and see what Honduras and Panama do.
Five Dynamo players have been put on the Gold Cup provisional rosters. That doesn't mean they will be gone for the whole time but they could be out for any portion of the tournament. https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/...ayer-rosters-announced-2017-concacaf-gold-cup Midfielders: Oscar Boniek García (Honduras), Erick Torres (Mexico) Forwards: Alberth Elis (Honduras), Romell Quioto (Honduras) Defender: Adolfo Machado (Panama) The Gold Cup runs July 7-26, 2017. The Dynamo have games on July 5th (v. Montreal), 19th (@Minnesota), and 22nd (@DC United) that could be affected. Honduras and Panama end the Group Stage on the 14th and 15th. Both should go through since even 3rd place teams can advance. The quarterfinals are on the 19th and 20th so we should expect those guys to miss all of the Dynamo games. It will depend on how Mexico uses Cubo whether or not he will be gone.
40 man is not the final roster but I would imagine those particular players would be likely to make a final roster, barring injury (in which case they wouldn't be playing here either). Torres is the only one I could see being marginal but I think whether or not he's a mess the productivity this season probably has them intrigued. Even if he does little or nothing between now and July.
Why is Beasley getting called up to play in WC Qualifiers? Is there any chance at all that he'll play in Russia? I understand calling in young guys to take part in camps.....but not someone on the way out. Are we that thin on D?
We are that thin on defense, we are that thin on defensive midfield. You keep waiting for Brooks, Cameron, etc. to step up and dominate, or one of the younger d-mids to step up and shove the poor playing Bradley out. No one quite does. They all mix stellar nights with horrorshows. Brooks' night against Costa Rica was about as bad as I have ever seen in the shirt, and he was back starting last weekend. [Kind of concerned Arena's healthier lineup looked and played like a Klinsmann outfit.] Even keeping, where is the next Keller? That used to be a well oiled machine and now we don't even know who succeeds Howard, who has only been playing pro soccer since 1998. I expected a list of people including Beasley, Bradley, Jones, Howard, to get shoved aside on age grounds and we're 3/4 through the cycle and nope not quite yet for all of them. But that's probably why this team is 4th in the Hex right now, is only maybe Pulisic has stepped up to international quality lately. [I blame the clubs, I think we were better off with Bradenton because a kid signing MLS is their roster filler but used to be focal to IMG camp.] Anyways, the worst part is Beasley maybe doesn't even play or dress. He wasn't even dressed for VEN. That being said, while generally solid Beasley is not that great here and we are arguably his excuse for staying fit for NT duty. It's better than Remick but hardly the dominant back we paid for.
Cubo Torres didn't make the 25 man Gold Cup roster. Barring an injury it looks like he'll be with the Dynamo this summer. Interesting that he got beat out by Angel Sepulveda (who's meh) and an untested Martin Barragan.
To guard Vela it looked like. It looked like Arena had figured out at least some of their danger was wing speed and so he had two guys with foot speed out there to mark them. He then clogged the middle with the formation. Exception of the goal it more or less worked. Thought Beasley and Yedlin looked shaky in the bigger picture but they served their purpose getting the tie.
Machado is not on the 23 man Gold Cup roster for Panama. He could still get called up later in the tournament. The Honduras 23 man roster should be out soon. The three Dynamo guys will probably be on it but we'll have to wait to be sure.
https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/...duran-trio-named-los-catrachos-gold-cup-squad I wonder if that means Boniek will make the trip to Colorado this weekend. Could go either way.
DeMarcus Beasley was called up for the US. https://www.houstondynamo.com/post/...med-usmnt-roster-world-cup-qualifying-matches
Machado called up for Panama for October WCQs against USA and Costa Rica. https://www.mlssoccer.com/post/2017...-panama-world-cup-qualifiers-vs-us-costa-rica Panama would clinch a World Cup spot with a win over the USA and a Honduras loss at Costa Rica on October 6.
Here are the Dynamo call-ups for the October FIFA break: DaMarcus Beasley USA Alberth Elis HON Boniek Garcia HON Adolfo Machado PAN Romell Quioto HON It seems unlikely that any of those guys will be available for the KC game on October 11. BTW, here are KC's call-ups: Matt Besler USA Benny Feilhaber USA Soni Mustivar HAI James Musa NZL Graham Zuzi USA Kevin Oliveira CPV Soony Saad LIB James Musa has a game for New Zealand on October 6 and Kevin Oliveira has a game for Cape Verde on October 7 so they might be back. The rest have games on October 10.
Missing all those players for the mid-week game will make things interesting. It will not be a straight up full roster game like it was before postponement. Does Cabrera have the chops to cobble together something or are we going to play for a point? Because this on deconextualized paper was the easiest game remaining. Easy being a relative term and not an analytical assessment of quality. You also have to wonder what you get on the weekend. Two quali games, flights back and then on to KC. But to some extent it will be both of us. But in our situations, we have to get significant points and they aren't as desperate. And then if we need points the last game it's Chicago, who is a decent team, decent road team, scores a lot (and also gives some up). It will be nail biting viewing, both them and the USA. Better than no playoffs possible but it could be more relaxing.
Sarachan, Arena's long-term lead assistant, will caretaker-coach the MNT in Portugal for a November friendly. That suggests to me Ramos is gunning for the full time job but doesn't want to get his hands dirty trying to extract performance from them before he applies for the long term gig.
