Yep, teams around Europe are all finding ways to strengthen during the winter window but we keep echoing that theirs no value. I see a lot of value in the deals being done.
The Sanchez comments by Ole wreak of desperation from a guy that’s basically been told not to expect shit for transfers in the summer. If he’s tempering expectations for the next window already then it may be pretty bleak. It will never happen, but it would be so epic and important if Ole were to step down as manager in a very public and critical way. Basically come out and say, I love this club but I was sold a bunch of lies from Ed and co and they are not prepared to give me the backing I need to turn this ship around. It would solidify his legacy (not that it needs it) and would be the final straw with the fans in terms of their relationship with Woody and the Glazers. One can dream.
Also, lots of rumors today from Portugal and Spain that Barcelona have moved for Bruno and are offering 60 mil. Could be Sporting leaks to get United to blink or could be what we all expected to happen...an actual big club come in and act decisively.
Lol yeah, prepare your heads/hearts. I thought maybe one throw away season, but two? Might as well sell DDG, after Pogba goes.
Two? it’s gonna be more than that. If the Glazers have decided they can keep making themselves money while cutting back spending on transfers because they don’t care about getting United back to the top, then this could be a very long dark age. Flounder around midnight table for a while until it makes sense for them to sell.
This is part of the problem with keeping Ole right now. If he'd been able to sign players in March when we were at our peak under him, then we'd most likely have fared quite well. If he'd come in after SAF with this long term plan we keep hearing about then he might have been able to enact it. But right now we haven't got a hope when we try to sign any high class talent. Ole has no pull. Our performances have no pull. Our lack of CL denies us any pull. It doesn't matter how good our recruitment strategy is if none of the players we identify want to sign for us. If we bring in Poch in April, say, then he should have enough time to get acquainted with our squad whilst not being tarred by our performances enough to lose any allure. Then we should at least be able to attract some talent, without yet being good enough as a club to warrant it.
https://www.espn.com/soccer/soccer-...eetener-to-lure-rodrigo-from-valencia-sources The Fernandes rumor to Barca is really weird, considering it would appear to be nothing more than a tool for the Catalans to get Rodrigo from Valencia. Understand that Barca may be desperate for a 9 since they've lost Suarez for the remainder of the season. But this is still very odd...
According to TVI24, Manchester United have offered Sporting 55M / € (+10 in addons) for Bruno Fernandes . The proposal must be accepted. Barcelona and Valencia have been spoken but the player does not want to go there. pic.twitter.com/FlIymFJMUC— Transfer News (@TrustyTransfers) January 28, 2020 Friday can't seriously come fast enough, so this can be over, one way or another. Can only imagine what Bruno is thinking/feeling at this point...
What I can not wait for personally, is what the atmosphere will be like at OT this coming weekend. Even if we were to sign Fernandes, we'll probably still hear chants (with the possible walk out that is still being talked about). If we don't sign anyone, it could get downright toxic. Either way, it's not going to be pretty. And Sky is now running with the Fernandes to Barca links. Something reeks there...
My brother has said there's supposed to be a walk-out by fans in the 58th minute this weekend. We'll see what materializes. https://talksport.com/football/6605...kout-old-trafford-wolves-glazers-ed-woodward/
the Barça story is confusing. there were reports a while back that Frenkie de Jong might be let flgo due to finances. maybe they're both bullshit but this just doesn't ring true. wouldn't surprise me though. we've delayed long enough

Manchester United have just sent their official bid for Bruno Fernandes to Sporting! Talks are now on between the two clubs. His agents are now “confident”. 🔴 #MUFC #ManUnited #transfers More details about Man Utd bid and Bruno’s contract ⏩ https://t.co/h7F70ML42d— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 28, 2020 Bruno Fernandes is waiting and buzzing in Lisbon... and he’d be ready to fly to Manchester tomorrow with his agents if the total agreement will be completed on next hours. Talks on. 🔛🔴 #MUFC #ManUnited #BrunoFernandes #transfers— Fabrizio Romano (@FabrizioRomano) January 28, 2020 Simon Peach and the Beeb reporting it too.
Everyone starting to pick it up. Looks like this may get done. Typical that we had to wait until leaked interest from another club to kick us in the ass and get us to make a move.
the shitty part is less time to integrate less time to train with the team and as i said before this will not be good for future negotiations if we have held Sporting CP to ransom here. assuming the specufued reports are accurate
In 25 years watching Sporting live every other week Bruno Fernandes is undoubtedly the best player I’ve seen in the green & white. Yes, SCP had Figo & Ronaldo, but they weren’t the players at Alvalade they'd become. Fernandes is the finished article. Ripe for a bigger challenge. pic.twitter.com/jk5TvyAKoh— Tom Kundert (@PortuGoal1) January 28, 2020 Talk about some lofty praise: this guy is gushing over him. I'm very confident about Fernandes making it with us as well. A good mentality/attitude is only a major plus, on top of actual football ability and he's got it in spades apparently. I just look forward to see him in our team and midfield especially with any combination of Pogs (even if it's just for a few months), McTominay or Fred (definitely can go with a 4-4-2 w/diamond midfield at times now, if we want to). A godsent to our forwards also. In a big way.
