    Either Munich, Split, or NYC
    Club:
    FC Bayern München
I do. It gives us teams we'd never though we see before. Wales and Iceland being prime example. And I know, I know, we'd still see him with the regular 16 format but you guys get the point.

8 or 16 or 32 or 64 works as it means only top two in each group qualifies out of group stage.

With 24 top two per group plus best 4 3rd placed teams qualify which is more complex and thus does not work.

24 is at least 8 too much.

    i prefer
    Teams: 8.
format first round 2 groups of 4.
    semi finals: 1st a v 2nd b , 2nd a v 1st b
Final: Semi final winner 1 v semi final winner 2.

basically the same format as used at euro 88, euro 88 being the tournament which gave us the current best European championship match ever the euro 88 final between USSR and the Netherlands.

Quality not quantity [quality is superior to quantity except in ww2].

Yes, and also Euro 1980, 1984 and 1992. I think 16 works too, but with 24 it's too many low-quality teams and matches.

So do you mean that a few quality matches is better than a lot of low quality matches.

    I.e. quality over quantity.
