I actually don't think he will bring in a 5th CB , even he might play 3 CB sometimes. If one got injured we can play 4-2-3-1 again, or keeper the back 3 but use Kimmich as RCB n Rudy at RWB. Both are options

    3 keepers

    3 fullbacks
    4 CBs

5 CMs (Kroos, Khedira, Rudy, Goretzka, Gundogan)

4 wingers ( Draxler, Sane, Muller, Reus)
    2 AM ( Oezil, Stindl/Goetze)

    2 CFs (Werner, Gomez)

Should make the 23-men squad if they are all fit to go

Höwedes as well if he's fit of course, he's solid then.

Think that Kimmich could make up the 5th CB if needed, so I don't think he will take another CB apart from the 4 .

Is Goretzka a CM or an AM?
Thought he was more of an AM
But yes the above is more or less correct... with two guys as big ??? CAN and Gintner

can I just say how bitter it is to watch this again
what's even worse is that they didn't even beat Portugal in the final
must avoid this again though next world cup - must be more clinical and avoid stupid mistakes in defense like making stupid penalties (boateng and schweini)

I see Kimmich really came close a few time too scoring....and Scheiwnie hand ball did not look like a handball.

Anyway Kimmich will be hungry next time we play them.

He would be a good back-up for Lewandowski, but it's not a good decision for him career wise. He will not see many starts. Maybe he hopes to get some CL matches so Loew will consider him for the WC.

Lewandowski did ask for help ..... I guess he could come in off the bench which would suit his role perfectly at the WC - Just like Schurrle was at Chelsea and at the NT

Good deal for Bayern, Bad for Wagner unless Lewy is out for an extended period

Exactly. Hopefully Heynckes gives him 10-15 minutes in most matches and a few starts in the BL.
Some really nasty group of death possibilities.
The teams to avoid in pot 2: Spain and England. Whoever lands one of them is looking at a possible group of death.

Is there a rule about the number of nations from the same continent in one group? Aka is it possible for 4 European countries to be drawn into the same group?

The hardest possible group IMO is Germany, Spain, Iran, and Nigeria. Easiest is Germany, Switzerland, Tunisia, and Panama.

Also interesting match ups that could be possible.

    • Argentina and England in a group
    • Brasil and Spain in a group

Sampaoli, as I recall, is a high-tempo manager. Likes to press high and string together quick attacks after winning the ball. Germany play at a relatively slow pace, preferring to break down teams with more methodical passing attacks.

Brazil and France aren't high pressing teams either. Spain can but they rather hold possession after they win the ball than transforming a fast paced attack. I guess he's just saying what everybody in Argentina wants to hear from him. Remember Maradona and Müller in 2010 or their team of thugs in 2006? They are sore losers mostly.

that's my thought too, just sounds salty that Germany eliminated Argentina in the last 3 consecutive WCs lol.
