How many more chances are some of you willing to give EDF? If he doesn’t get it done on Wednesday you want him there for the Derby? He shouldn’t have been allowed on the bus after Bologna.
I've always said I would love to see Montella return as a coach one day. But right now is pretty much the worst time to hire him. He's another one that needs very specific players to be successful. If EDF goes, we need someone who is going to go back to a more basic approach and knows Serie A. Unleash the tinkerman.
Leggo titola: "#DiFrancesco, 2 partite per salvarsi. In agguato #Montella, #Sousa e #Blanc"#ASRomahttps://t.co/S9VA1PoVyc— Pagineromaniste.com (@PagineRomaniste) September 25, 2018 EDF's future depends on these next 2 games. 3 wins in a row could save him. Baldini likes Sousa, with Montella as second option. Blanc is a further away then these 2.
Agree. This team needs someone who is a tactician and a disciplinarian. They don't have to scream and yell but someone that will hold players accountable.
In today's presser EDF denied reports of a fight between Dzeko and Florenzi in training. Has anyone seen reports of that? I've looked but haven't found any.
Conte sounds great but I have a couple reservations about him. 1) Price. Its not just his salary but we'll owe Chelsea a nice chunk of change. 2) Youth. Is Conte willing to develop youth players and integrate them into his squad? Roma can't afford to buy established players 2 deep at every position.
Paulo Sousa is the favourite to take over from Eusebio Di Francesco at #ASRoma amid reports he's negotiating a contract termination with Tianjin Quanjian https://t.co/qoIHs10CR5 pic.twitter.com/swlAIngqX4— Football Italia (@footballitalia) September 25, 2018 Finished 3rd in China last year. This year they are close to relegation zone. He’s played 4231, 352, 3421, 442, and 433 from what I’ve seen over a spell of games. The only player of note on their team is Pato.
Honestly Ranieri played some good football that got us results. Considering the players we had at that time, he did a pretty good job. Am I the only one who thinks that?
I always liked him as a manager. Felt bad for him that he never won anything in Italy. Was very happy when he won the EPL with Leichester City. He quit Roma in the dressing room right after this game..
Except for the part where they called EDF tactically astute and said Luca Pellegrini plays in midfield. Also, Monchi and EDF are holding a press conference on Wednesday? Before our game? "On Wednesday there will be a press conference where Monchi will sit alongside Di Francesco, Italian newspaper La Repubblica noting that the director will be looking “to protect his Coach.” Yet the sad truth is that, just 18 months after their much-heralded arrival and only five months after that glorious run to the Champions League semifinals, both men are clearly failing."
I assumed the just mixed up Luca and Lorenzo. The astute comment was about the EDF we hired. I don't think EDF necessarily a bad coach, I just think the pressure at Roma has gotten to him, it happens to a lot of coaches in all sports.
I agree with this. EDF has 2 months with a majority of the squad to get them prepped. The fact that he keeps changing his starting eleven and the fact that he keeps moving away from his supposed favored formation and tactics just reeks of desperation. He doesn't know what to do. The team is playing without desire, without any will to impose themselves. They should have been pressing Bologna to death, but everyone was content to just pass it around, pass it back, not take any risks or force Bologna into a mistake. This feels different than the end of Garcia's tenure. Garcia stuck with what he knew and it just wasn't working any more. EDF appears to be having an identity crisis.
