The problem is his huge contract with Chelsea. He’s taking them to court right now, if it gets resolved soon he might be more inclined to take lower wages at Roma, otherwise he could be risking a ton of money.

 

Yeah, playing process of elimination with available jobs makes him a candidate , but I'm not sure it makes him more viable.

I was listening to a podcast today with some reporters , and apparently Roma put out feelers to Mourinho (as they did in 2016) , but he wasn't interested again.

Perhaps that means he's in the running for a return to Inter - I have no idea. I know he has ties to the club , but once Beppe was brought in , I always felt Conte was more of a fit.

There's also the report circulating that Conte demanded 10m per season from Inter. No idea if that's true , but that's in an entirely different stratosphere to what we pay our managers.

Guess we'll find out.

Baldini and Conte met at a restaurant in London. The only way Conte makes sense is if he has some guarantee's that Roma are going to be spending heavily in the market. I can't see him going someplace that is going to sell their best players.

I honestly do not see what is wrong with this. If getting Conte guarantees you top 4 finishes in each year, how is that not worth it? We might even challenge for a title.

I don't think that's that much for a coach like Conte. There are other reasons I don't want him here for.
