Yeah, they were being quoted at $60 per for rooftop standing, with seats up to $160 and premium seats at $240. (The latter two I may be off ±20, and I was trying to track the conversation I was engaged in. ) BTW, the ticket-scanning-guy wasn't going to let me in with a paper ticket until the supervisor standing behind him said it was fine and to scan the ticket. Another BTW, walking down 2nd Street to the NW corner of the stadium grounds, overheard a conversation between one of the street assistants and a driver who was looking for handicap parking—the assistant saying he could drop someone off, but he'd have to find parking 4-5 blocks away, as there is no parking at the stadium, handicap or no.
Hey, I'm in 127 also Row 10. Where are you? I agree about the sightlines, they are far, far superior to RFK even though I was in RFKs section 307 which was about as good as it gets. The Stadium is not without some elements that I think would have improved the experience including: adding roofs to both end sections; putting safe standing for the supporter groups; Raising the roof on the West to block the sun over in the East Stands, and adding more restrooms.
Absolutely right. Total brain fart. That's what you get growing up in England and hearing Roy Keane for years and years to the point its imprinted on your brain.
All of the folks I was with really hated that person yelling make noise in the stadium speakers. I thought MLS was WAY, WAY past manufacturing noise rather than having it organically generated.
The two defenders were frozen by Acosta's continued run towards goal. They hesitated between moving towards Arriola or moving towards Acosta. They did neither, so Arriola had an open lane to shoot.
There's no such thing as the National Anthem being too long, poorly sung yes but that Marine did a fantastic job.
I mean, since its based on an English drinking song, yes, it can absolutely be too long. That was more a dirge... ...which, I guess, could be said to be entirely fitting, given the current geopolitical sitch.
Just sent a rant to my rep about that amped up fool. I did not spare my distaste for that unnecessary "addition" to opening night.
I was probably kinder in the note I just sent but the sentiment is the same...never again. I propose a swap: Out -- Hype guy In -- Bring back the slingshot crews...Audi is perfect since every seat is within range.
I'm willing to let the MC guy slide if it was just for stadium opening night. But I want the Hispanic announcer from years gone by back.
The team website has a compilation of Rooney's debut. The look on Mattock's face as he leaves the field (a scowl) speaks volumes.
That's ironic they tell you to think about baseball to make "it:" last longer and baseball takes revenge by rushing things.
That was beyond awful. Everyone in my group hated it, too. I don't have a ticket rep but I have made my feeling known to the team. While, like most of us, I have numerous suggestions of things that could be improved I made it clear that in my view there are two things they must fix immediately. (1) Get things right with BB and DU (2) Get rid of the screaming hype guy Messages sent/posted via their web site, twitter, and Facebook. ------------------------------------ I know most of you don't need this but just in case: https://www.facebook.com/dcunited https://twitter.com/dcunited https://www.dcunited.com/club/contact-us
According to my rep, he's one and done. He was even more down on the guy than I was. At the game I especially liked his "give it up for your Captain -- David -- uh Steve Birnbaum." Douche, should go back to the third rate carny they found him at.
