Where: There Why: pre-season training When: Saturday 09/30 - the day of Atonement (or the tail end anyway), 7:30PM ET/4:30PT The end is near. That is all. James
Yes an opportunity to excel once again! Now that we have the pressure of saving it for the playoffs out of the picture, the lads can bring it all and leave it on the field. Getting out of Columbus with a win and no rape charges is a good thing
Only three posts (OK, now four) in a pre-game thread on game day? Yeah, I know, the season is effectively over, but still....
I want to see Robinson, OA, Harkes and Miranda get the start. Other than that, a cohesive plan to attack the space Crew fullbacks invariably leave behind them as they push forward. Personally, I would leak Acosta out there and run off him, but any plan to attack that vulnerable spot will do.
I hear you, but I think Ben is auditioning his likely 2018 starting XI in these last matches. For that reason, I could see Harkes starting in place of Marcelo Sarvas, who will turn 36 in two weeks and is unlikely to be in the mix next season (although he has had two good outings in a row, IMO). Miranda should definitely get some time, but whether at forward or wing is the question. I wouldn't object to Robinson getting a start over Birnbaum, because Ben know what Birnbaum offers but Robinson has had some good outings and needs to be auditioned for 2018. As for OA, I don't think he played well in his recent start, whereas Nicky and Korb have put in two good back-to-back outings.
After this weekend, DC United is part of FIFA's international break. Let the players rest then. But I would play guys like Harkes and Robinson just for their development. Score 3-2 for them. They're just a better team right now. We've gotten very good personnel recently, but they need to get more minutes together to be a better team.
Pathetic marking on the C-bus goal. Opare, Franklin and Robinson standing around picking cling-on offs their asses while Williams was measuring the header. BTW, Lindsay Simpson is the worst “analyst” in the history of broadcasting.
I thought that was a good set play by the Crewzers. They ran a pick to perfection, the corner kick was perfect, and Williams was wide open for the goal. It would be nice for our team to run set plays, but it takes some coaching.
I think the latter. He has decent speed, isbetter running at goal, and he is not a hold-up style forward.
