For god's sakes, he just held a press conference at Pride Park! This is approaching Flat-Earther territory.

We’re not even a good enough retirement team in a retirement league for Wayne to end his career in. What do we even specialize in?

I wonder if any of this is related to his pre-season encounter in FL. Maybe, maybe not. I hope that he's leaving because of our inept ownership group and they do some serious soul searching. Maybe they'll change course or sell. A man can dream, can't he?!?!

I mean, we used to specialize in assembling an overachieving group of angry old castoffs along with a couple of academy kids. I kind of liked that personality. Then we tried to get all sexy-like. That's been less fun and less rewarding.

I s'pose we should be discussing stuff like this outside of the filly thread, but this is a better use than talking about that "game".

I do. It's not on the GM if the team's two best player's have been steaming shit this season. It's not on the GM if the coach thinks the team's two best players can routinely take on the other team's six-deep defense all by themselves and thrive. It's not on the GM if half the team is hurt or disinterested. Of ALL the people to blame for this season, Kasper's not even in my top ten.

I agree that Kasper can be blamed for lack of forward depth. To us, that's a big hole. But it was clear to Olsen before the season even began that the backup forward was never going to get any minutes as long as Rooney was healthy.

So what else do you expect from the GM? He's not the one who rounds the goalie and then skies the ball into row Y.

Yeah, I can't put this on Kasper. He's not the one starting upwards of 7 defense first players and then hoping Rooney/Acosta/Arriola can somehow conjure up something out of nothing. He's not the one who doesn't let players just bomb forward like you see other teams do. He's not the one playing Rodriguez out of position, or not doing any real squad rotation, or wasting Stieber on the bench.

They really need to look into a new head coach. There's only so far Olsen and Ashton can take DC United, regardless of what magic Kasper can pull out of his hat.

You think things can't get worse? Well, they have:

That's right, Felipe, the asshole that injured Espindola right after a kick-off!?!?!?!?

    - when you have zero faith in your attack you play 7 defense first players
    - Mora bombs forward as does Arriola but who else on this side would you bomb forward with?
    - how is Rodriguez out of position. my understanding is he is a flank player. that is where he has been played. would you put him at the 10? 9?
    - Stieber was wasted on the bench no arguments there

Kasper is really good at finding serviceable MLS castoffs. You can't credit him for Rooney, even my girlfriend know who Rooney is and what he can do. No Kasper is shite! Ashton is shite! And Olsen is a care taker.

Yeah, I take back all the nice things I just said about Kasper. Felipe is scum. Hopefully he rips his ACL in practice and never wears a DC shirt on the field.

Jara goes forward. Stieber could when he was here, as can Segura. But playing 7 defensive minded players doesn't really allow for attacking football.

Rodriguez has been employed at, I believe, d-mid, left wing back, and left defense at various points this year, in addition to playing an advanced role on the wing. He's been moved around almost as much as Arriola was last year.

This team should be able to attack and score goals. I don't think they're being set up in a position to do that anymore.

Well, if we got him just to injure all of the Galaxy's top attackers - then I'm okay with it - otherwise this was an awful move, I ********ing hate that guy.

I read the name and first thought - is that the asshole... then I saw Felipe was his first name and was momentarily convinced it must be someone else since that asshole had Felipe on his jersey so it must be his last name ..... then I saw the next tweet. Now I'm mad, where before I was just disappointed.
